I was not questioned at all concerning why, the young man retrieved a key to open the register to refund my money. The young lady working drive-thru noticed that he grabbed cash and from her window, let him know that I paid with a card. With my card in hand, I let the person helping me know that I did in fact pay with my card.
Another young lady came over to help out with the refund, after working on the register with my receipt she told me to tap the screen to have my refund returned to my card however the screen flashed Void with a red X then Declined. She said, ok you’re good to go and proceeded to walk away.
I turned to leave, but then questioned how I would be receiving a refund when the screen flashed void and declined – I never tapped anything. I asked for something to show that my refund was processed and was told that I should see it in 3-5 business days.
She decided to try again, because of course that wasn’t acceptable or accurate. And, once again the screen flashed Void and Declined with a red X, there was nothing to tap.
I was then told I wasn’t tapping fast enough..although there wasn’t anything on screen to tap. She then asked for my card went to the back and came back saying, I don’t know why your card isn’t working (it absolutely works) and handed me cash which is definitely an inconvenience.
At no time was an apology or even an acknowledgment received concerning the fact that I received a meal that was not fresh or edible and had to take time out of my busy schedule to drive back to the restaurant. Additional Customer Service training is needed to better handle situations like this.
