Absolutely exceptional. Schole is a true Hobart gem, seamlessly blending its stunning wood-lined interior with the character of the old confectionary store it inhabits. The single communal table creates an intimate, almost meditative dining experience, and every dish bursts with vibrant, thoughtful flavours. Service is quiet, attentive, and absolutely impeccable—present without ever intruding. A beautifully crafted space matched by beautifully crafted food. Highly recommended.

I wouldn’t mind this one staying a bit of a secret to be honest but I must say this was a wonderful place to stumble across. Kitchen works up some beautiful meals that are great to share and small enough so with a bit of hunger you can taste it all (no FOMO). Service is lovely and attentive and the group seating environment is intimate. Very small, so make sure you book. We did manage to time a walk in perfectly but I can see this just doesn’t usually happen.

An exception dining experience. I came to visit from London and it was hands one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The setting is beautiful, the food innovative yet flavours so delicate and subtle, and the service warm and inviting. A stand out for people coming to Hobart

Small, beautifully designed izakaya venue with modern flair in Hobart. Gorgeous staff, beautiful wine/sakè/cocktail list and a warm inviting atmosphere. Must go.

Lovely fit out, nice design. Millie was a star, very friendly. Food has a market, but not the best in Hobart. We found the taste underwhelming – but the produce quality was good. Sub par wine list and disappointing to see a lack of Tasmanian wines. there was a sheen of arrogance to the place.

Super cute and intimate Japanese style wine bar – the food was really fresh and tasty and the service was so friendly and attentive! Good value they’ve got a small and perfectly curated drinks list. The martini is AMAZING. The food was really fresh with quality ingredients – the tuna sashimi was buttery soft. Would love to try this place again on the next Hobart visit

Deceptively simple and thoughtful menu resulting in delicious, appealing dishes. You can imagine the time taken to source and create this food – and develop the skills to make everything from scratch. Millie is a warm and friendly host with the depth of knowledge required to showcase both the food and wine. Our shared table was made up of friends and couples who respected each other’s conversations as well as contributing to table-wide chats. I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you
