The Wine House is truly one of the great wine institutions in Los Angeles. Whether you’re just beginning your wine journey or have years of experience under your belt, this is a place that welcomes curiosity, learning, and passion at every level.
A huge part of what makes The Wine House so special is Monica Marin and her WSET program. Monica is an exceptional educator. Knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely invested in her students’ growth. She has an incredible ability to break down complex wine concepts in a way that’s approachable and memorable, while still challenging you to think deeper and taste more thoughtfully.
The WSET program at The Wine House is structured, rigorous, and incredibly rewarding, yet always supportive and fun. The tasting selections are top-notch, the discussions are lively, and the learning environment encourages questions and exploration. You can feel the care and intention that goes into every class.
Beyond the classroom, The Wine House itself is a wine lover’s dream. They have an outstanding selection, a welcoming atmosphere, and a team that clearly loves what they do.
If you’re serious about learning wine, or even just wine-curious, I can’t recommend The Wine House and Monica Marin’s WSET program highly enough. It’s an exceptional experience from start to finish.

Came in looking for a gift and ended up buying a few bottles for myself too. The store has a nice layout, and the staff clearly know their wines. Easy to see why it’s so popular.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars. A wine Mecca! Great website too. Order online and pickup at the curb. Easily the best wine shop in LA.

This citadel of a wine shop is absolutely fantastic. It’s huge, and they have it all, from craft beers to expensive vodka and so many different fine scotches. But what they really excel in, obviously, is wine. They have a large selection from around the world, and as you would imagine, they are deep in California, Napa in particular. Endless OWCs of Dominus. And, what’s unique to them, is that they buy cellars. So if you are sitting on a mountain of older stuff, you can sell it to them, provided everything has been well sourced and well stored. What really sets them apart, however, is their staff. These are career wine folks who really know their stuff, and not just New World. They have a fantastic staff who are super kind and helpful, consultants not salespeople. Shopping here is such a treat.

One of the best wine shops we’ve been into in the USA. Exceptional service, very well laid out store and a big range of natural/minimal intervention wines.

This was an absolute disgrace. I came to buy wine with my valid passport and driver’s license from Israel, proving I am 26 years old – well over the legal drinking age of 21. Instead of simply checking MY ID, the cashier refused to sell me anything just because I was with someone who is 20. This makes no sense at all – I am the customer, I am clearly of legal age, and there is no law that should prevent me from making my purchase.
Refusing service to a paying customer who presents valid government ID is unacceptable. This is a failure of basic customer service and shows a complete lack of professionalism. I will never shop here again and strongly recommend others avoid this location.

My favorite, and one of the best wine shops, in Los Angeles. The Wine House has the “neighborhood” vibe with an enormous, well-curated selection. Since discovering it 1.5 years ago, it’s been my go-to shop. As I focus on Italian wine, Lance’s newsletter is a must. I’ve gotten to taste gems from all 20 regions and from $9-90. The in-store events (once they return) are also a must-attend—an opportunity to meet producers, others passionate about wine, and taste.
For those looking to dive in deeper, I’d highly recommend WSET courses with Monica Marin who is an incredible instructor. I’ve taken her Level 1-2 courses and Bordeaux and Tequila classes.
Only a 15 min drive from Santa Monica. Right where the 10 meets the 405 🙂

Holy mackerel…This huge warehouse of a store has an astonishing selection. They have several, not just one or two Tua Rita selections. They even had other natural or biodynamic stuff I was looking for. Note they are only doing curbside pickup on street level. They do have parking. The pickup procedure went relatively smoothly. Wish they would do pick up at parking level as the street level entrance is RIGHT by a freeway entry point.

I’ve been buying from the wine house for 10yrs and this is one of the best wine stores in the country. They’re very flexible, knowledgeable, quick to respond, and most importantly, very friendly. Definitely recommend if you live in LA, but also if you want to ship to you.
