I attended a casual dinner here with two business associates; we all paid for ourselves. The server mistakenly placed two (of the three) of the charges on my card. When I called to have it rectified, I was told to call the associate and have her pay me back. However, this associate was not someone I knew before that evening, and, therefore, I was not comfortable doing so. When I told him this, I was then told to have the OTHER colleague call the one who wasn’t charged and tell her to pay me back.
When I said that wasn’t possible (due to optics), he told me to give him her number and HE would call her, never taking responsibility for HIS EMPLOYEE’S ERROR. When I told him his proposed solutions were not acceptable, he told me I was disgusting. I lie to you not.
In addition, food is just average and ambience is nonexistent; it looks like the decor hasn’t been updated since ’76.
STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!
We started off with scallion pancakes and these were by far my favorite!
For our entrees we had the sesame chicken which was also good and the chicken lo mein. The chicken in the lo mein wasn’t my favorite.
Overall I would come back to try other items out.
The food is top quality. Service is excellent. Restaurant is decent size and spa music is usually playing.
Orange beef is sooooooo good.
It is more spacious and decor is better than its sister branch in Teaneck.
However, that is the only positive marker that I am able to give about this location.
Service was below standard compared to the Teaneck post.
Staff seemed more standoffish and only a few smiled and were eager to make my visit welcome, hospitable and comfortable.
The lunch menu offerings were quite limited, again, comparing it to the lunchtime variety served in Teaneck.
The sashimi sampler was okay and was fresh.
Salad wasn’t fresh.
The leaves seemed wilted.
The house special fried rice was supposed to have 3 meats plus shrimp.
The pork was virtually nonexistent and Only 1 shrimp was given.
For that matter they should not have offered the dish at all or even offer any shrimp.
The quantity was also less than what is normally served as the lunch special portions. At least based on how they give it at the Teaneck branch.
I think I may stick to the old tried and true Teaneck location in the future. This location may have been sold to new ownership, and thus, new management.
