Positives first, the view from the patio is beautiful. You get a great view of the Huston skyline and the staff was wonderful. The food though was at best disappointing, the two worst being the flatbread which tasted like frozen pizza and the tuna tacos were so small. For the price I really expected better. The food was at best mediocre.

Food isn’t bad but it’s overpriced for the portion size and quality. $75 for brunch with a $50 add-on for seafood is pretty steep

There are great views of downtown though

Awesome rooftop spot with an amazing view of downtown Houston. It’s a great, chill place for happy hour; laid-back vibe, good drinks, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. You can pay to do the pool cabana for a day rental too.

Definitely try the tuna tartare… it’s a standout and pairs perfectly with the views and cocktails. A solid go-to for a relaxed evening with a skyline backdrop.

New restaurant with great view on a balcony near the bayou, able to see downtown and more. Food was decent, small menu, wine acceptable, nothing stood out. The patio was a little weird, it didn’t feel like a restaurant, it felt more like a reception space they shoe-horned a restaurant in, some tables were spaced far apart others right on top of each other. The bar inside looks nice.

Sol7 wins for the best view of Houston’s skyline! I absolutely loved my time here from the experience at valet to the hotel concierge. The staff was quite friendly, however, there were a few hiccups for me. I felt like my food was a little cold. I didn’t love the food here and had a chance to try a couple different things since I came with some friends. I did like their truffle fries! Drinks were nice! Come here to enjoy drinks and the lovely view. They had a DJ outdoors but we weren’t able to enjoy the music due to being late for our initial outdoors reservation. The team did accommodate us and eventually sat us outside which I did appreciate.

I chose Sol7 from its OpenTable reviews and great view of the Houston skyline as it was mine and my coworkers last evening in the area. We arrived to a beautiful high rise building; very excited to see this is where we would be dining, as we had drove past this building multiple times while traveling for work.

Parking was a bit challenging, but we found a spot relatively close in a self park lot.

We went up the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess who was shuffling back and forth helping the various customers arriving.

We were seated at probably the worse table in the outside seating area. When I noticed there were multiple tables open with an actual view (not behind a giant pillar), the hostess (Andre) said the only options were this table or inside tables. When I inquired about the open tables with a view, he proceeded to tell me those were “for guests that had specified a view table in their reservation”. Me, knowing I had specified such seating in my OpenTable reservation, started to pull my phone out and verbally said “yes, that is what I requested with my reservation.” Andre then replied to me stating “This is the table you will be dining at this evening!” in an unpleasant, sharp tone without giving me time to show him the reservation on OpenTable.

My colleague and I settled into our seats rather astounded by the treatment by Andre, we were greeted by our wonderful waiter, Nick, who took our drink and appetizer order. Nick had my colleague and I keep our menus, as we were not sure what entree we would be ordering yet.

A few minutes passed, my colleague and I had set our menus on the table, and Andre re-appeared at our table abruptly. I greeted him with the best smile I could muster up, and he asked “If we had been helped yet?” I responded with “Yes, Nick is taking care of us”.

Andre then asked “Have you been able to order?”

I responded, with “Yes, we have placed our order for drinks and appetizers.”

Andre then responded with “Well, are you done with your menus?”

I responded “No, we have not placed our order for our Entree yet.”

Visibly annoyed, in an aggressive and annoyed tone Andre responded with “Well that’s what I was asking!” and he stormed off.

Again, rather stunned, my colleague and I found this “hospitality” quite unpleasant and completely uncalled for.

Luckily, Nick reappeared a few moments later with our drink order and appetizers. We were able to place our order with Nick for our Entree’s and handed him back our menus (I hope that they made their way back to Andre…?)

On a positive note, I would highly recommend the “H-Town Tea”. Also the Salmon was delicious, perfectly cooked and flavored with the right amount of spices. There was also live music, which was a pleasant surprise.

It was very disappointing though to be treated in a poor manner by the hostess, Andre. I’m well aware that customer service jobs are exceedingly challenging, but to be aggressive and unpleasant to communicate with is totally unacceptable by staff that should be interested in making your dinning a positive experience.

I’ve been to Sol 7 in Houston twice now, and both times were such a great experience that I had to leave a review! It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots to go with friends, especially for brunch. The place itself is beautifully designed, modern, stylish, and welcoming, and the vibe is just right whether you’re going for a casual outing or something a bit more special.

The view of the city is absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re sitting indoors near the windows or out on the patio, you get this stunning skyline backdrop that really elevates the whole experience. It’s a perfect setting for catching up with friends, taking photos, or just enjoying the moment.

The brunch menu is sweet and short, which I actually loved. It makes it easy to choose, and everything we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The drinks were just as impressive: great presentation, well-balanced flavors, and definitely worth a toast or two.

If you’re looking for a chic, high-vibe brunch spot in Houston with great views, good food and drinks, and excellent service, Sol 7 is a must. I’ll definitely be back again!

We went here for lunch. We sat outside since the weather was amazing. There’s a great view of the skyline and the decor was very pretty. We had the salmon Caesar salad with some mocktails and both were great. I’d definitely recommend coming here for an evening out or a bite for lunch!

4.3 stars. Beautiful dining area in the lobby of the Thompson Houston. Breakfast was very enjoyable for my wife, our youngest son and me. The prices are reasonable. Service was good. Slight ding for the basket of assorted pastries ($12). Both the danish and Mexican bread were underwhelming. Chilaquiles were wonderful as wife commented that next time she’d order it instead of the Eggs Benedict. Added perk for Globalists is the inclusion of breakfast too.

This restaurant is great place to dine with a great view of the skyline. The employees were very attentive and responsive to all service needs. The food was excellent. I had the Smash Burger with Truffle fries. I will return.
