The service was warm, welcoming, and extremely attentive. What truly elevated the experience was that the server cooks the meats perfectly for you, allowing my friends and I to fully relax without worrying about timing or technique. Our server checked in often and made sure we never ran low on side dishes, happily offering refills whenever needed.
Speaking of the banchan, there was an impressive variety and every single one was delicious. The meat selection was excellent, the wagyu truly stood out–incredibly tender and literally melted in our mouths.
Overall, this was an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. I would 100% come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-tier Korean BBQ in NYC.
For the dinner itself – we got the $165 duo to split between three people and it was an ENDLESS amount of food. Granted we are three women, but it would be really hard to leave hungry with all the endless banchan and sides they provide, not to mention the soft serve at the end. The meats were cooked perfectly, our server was very attentive and made helpful suggestions throughout the meal as to how to best eat each cut, and the side dishes were diverse and flavorful.
Seriously impressed overall, and I don’t think the price point is actually that high for what you get. They also do a special dessert for your birthday which was cute!
Value wise, I left feeling full but not bloated, which is good. Most of the meats were high quality, and there were plenty of other veggies to balance out the meal. I didn’t think there was a lot of meat but that also means no meat sweats which is good.
No plain white rice served was quite disappointing, and there could have been more variety of meats that were not A5 Wagyu but more meaty.
Overall, I left feeling satisfied but not something I’d immediately return back to, as I think Cote and even Nubiani provided a bit more value and better side dishes.
although some cuts of the meats were a bit tough and stringy, but they were cooked to perfection nonetheless. the banchans were standard, the multi grain rice was sensational (it’s not too common for other kbbq restaurants to serve) so i was pleasantly surprised.
the atmosphere was very intimate and luxurious, every washroom had private stalls
Service was 10/10. We forgot to ask for our waiter’s name but he brought us out some dessert wines after we off handedly mentioned it was our 2 year wedding anniversary, all while apologizing that he didnt get a chance to send us some bubblies to start. All of his food recommendations and drink pairing were great as well and did not let us down.
Food was also 10/10!! We compared this to Cote, which personally didnt blow us away, and my husband and I both agree probably one of the best KBBQ spots in NJ/NY. We always judge a kbbq spot by its banchan and kimchi, and both the cabbage and aged kimchi were perfectly to our taste. Beware, they are both abit fishy forward (either shrimp paste or fish sauce?) but we thought it was well balanced and quite tasty. The other banchans were excellent as well and we didnt even finish half of them as we were so full.
For main course, we got the elite duo, and were NOT disappointed. The soybean stew was great and the naengmyun was so perfectly chewy. I thought the rice was also an excellent touch, made with shitake mushrooms and ginko. However, beware – i think you only get the rice if you order one of the stews. And it should go without saying that the meats and BBQ were amazing and the waiters do an excellent job of explaining each dish and how best to enjoy them, which i think is great for those who may be new tp kbbq.
Definitely will be back, thank you!
