Tucked away on the artsy, character-filled stretch of St. Marks Place, this Thai spot absolutely blew me away. Truly one of the best Thai meals I’ve had in New York.

From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate. The staff were so warm and welcoming — not just polite, but genuinely engaging. They walked us through the menu, chatted with us, and made the whole experience feel personal. The interior has such a cozy, atmospheric feel — warm lighting with subtle Southeast Asian touches that make the space feel intimate and special.

What we ordered:

Thai Iced Tea
Refreshing, perfectly sweet, and so good at cutting through the richness of the curries.

Panang Curry Chicken
Silky, rich, and deeply flavorful. The coconut and curry blend beautifully — my ultimate comfort dish.

Khao Soi (Curry Chicken Noodles)
So rich and satisfying. The curry-coconut broth is thick but not heavy, and the noodles soak up all that flavor perfectly.

Kor Moo Yang
Grilled pork neck that’s juicy but not greasy at all. Dipped in the sweet-savory sauce? So addictive.

Krapow Nuer
Solid, flavorful beef with authentic basil aroma, topped with a perfectly runny fried egg. So good over rice.

Wings & Salad
Both packed with bold Thai flavors — that perfect balance of sour and spicy.

Crab Rangoon
Super cheesy, crispy on the outside, soft inside — comfort food done right.

✨ Favorite: Sao Nam
This one was magical. The layers of flavor are unreal — bright lime, creamy coconut, topped with pineapple and shredded ginger, shrimp inside, and a chewy, mochi-like wrapper. Sweet, tangy, fresh, aromatic — everything at once.

My friend and I had the best time. When we were leaving, the staff even refilled our Thai iced tea and packed it to-go for us to enjoy on the walk home. It felt so thoughtful — like we were truly taken care of.

I genuinely don’t want you to miss this spot.

I honestly didn’t expect much walking in, but this place really surprised me. The Yum Pu Dong raw blue crab was extremely fresh with a soft, bouncy texture and just the right amount of spice, and it felt very clean and easy to eat. The garlic shrimp was another favorite, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and full of flavor without being oily. I also really enjoyed the Kor Moo Yang grilled pork neck, which had a nice smoky char, a great balance of fat and meat, and a sauce that made it hard to stop eating.
Everything tasted well seasoned but not heavy. I’ve always loved Chef Kenji’s cooking, and you can really feel his style and experience in these dishes. It’s a low key spot, but the food alone makes it worth coming back.

I’ve been to klong for years, they have the best food! They also have a great lunch special. Joe was so nice, telling me about the new items on the menu. Their crab curry is soooo freaking by good. If you go definitely order the calamari and crab curry. The vibes are great, I had a good time with my best friend and the service is amazing. Definitely coming more often. I took a really bad picture for crab curry but they had good chunks.

Great value Thai spot near NYU! Lunch special is only $12.95 and comes with a free appetizer. Pad Thai was flavorful and not greasy, and the green curry beef was rich and comforting. Happy hour drinks before 8pm are affordable and fun. Perfect place for casual meals or drinks with friends

This restaurant deserves five stars! My recent experience here was excellent, combining all the best qualities you look for when dining out.
First and foremost, the food was good. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in the quality of the ingredients and their execution.
Secondly, the price was good—in fact, it was great value for money. You often have to compromise on quality to save money, but here, the portions were generous and the quality was high without breaking the bank.
Finally, the service was good from the moment we walked in. The staff were attentive, friendly, and prompt. They made sure we had everything we needed without hovering, creating a genuinely enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere.

I highly recommend this spot and can’t wait to go back!

Klong has updated its menu, offering a much wider variety of dishes. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The staff are cheerful, attentive, and provide excellent service, including helpful menu recommendations. I especially loved the crab paste dish—it was outstanding. Highly recommended!

We had some apprehensions entering this restaurant. Only one section was open, the music was too loud and we felt hurried to order. However, the grilled squid appetizer had a nice cilantro flavor. The Pla trod was the highlight of the night (I would highly recommend this dish). They tried to make the Goong on woonsen to be authentic using river prawn from Thailand. Unfortunately, the prawn had a soggy texture that destroyed the whole dish.
