First visit but definitely won’t be the last. Cozy atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff. Food was amazing. The steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music on the patio. The husband and wife duo performing were excellent. This is a great place to take someone special. They will definitely be impressed.

We decided on the loaded potato skins for the appetizer and the ribeye steak medium rare with grilled asparagus for me and sautéed green beans, portobello mushrooms, and the addition of grilled shrimp for my husband and salad bar for both. As we sat enjoying the atmosphere while sipping our wine we decided to venture up to the salad bar. The options of toppings were many and everything was fresh and well stocked. We gathered our salads and returned to our table. When we were almost done our appetizer reached the table brought by a pleasant young man dressed in black. As he placed it on the table he inquired if we needed anything else and true to form I requested a bottle of A1 sauce. The young man looked puzzled but obliged my request. Even though I and my husband have eaten steak at some of the best chophouses and steakhouses across the nation and some in other countries I always found that A1 was needed to bring much needed flavor and moisture. The loaded potato skins were absolutely delicious!!! The melted cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon was perfect! While we finished our appetizer the same black clothed young man placed our main course in front of us. The fragrant, ribeye steaks that adorned our dinner plates wafted to our noses and mixed with visual cross seared markings that glistened caused us to salivate instantly!!! The asparagus and green beans were bright and beautiful while the grilled shrimp were scrumptious. I grabbed the well weighted steak knife and my fork making the first cut into this luscious piece of beef before me. I don’t even think the knife was necessary as this perfectly cooked, buttery beef was effortless to cut with a fork. The sear and crust of this steak was unlike anything I’ve experienced. I took that first piece and placed it in my mouth and just closed my eyes while savoring the perfection that was the most perfect steak I’d ever eaten in almost 50 years of life! I sat and savored every single bite like it was the only food need for living. The asparagus was like butter with absolutely no chew or fibers of the stalk and the green beans had a beautiful snap with the mushrooms were flavorfully perfect. At the end of our meal we ordered dessert which was cheesecake. I opted for the sweet potato, maple and my husband opted for chocolate. As we spoke to Stephanie our amazing waitress I requested to speak to, meet and shake the hand of the master chef that cooked the amazing meal we had. After receiving our coffee to accompany our dessert a tall, pleasant bearded man in a black chef coat walked over to our table. James who is not only the master of his kitchen but he is also the owner of this amazing establishment. He shook our hands as we showered him in praise regarding his beef cooking prowess. James was warm and jovial accepting our praise some humbly thanking us for our kind words. He asked to take a seat at our table to continue our conversation and we quickly motioned for him to take a seat. My husband and I told him about the national article written about him and his restaurant leading us to drive there just for the steak. He was so surprised because he had no idea this article even existed. My husband handed James his phone so he could email the article to himself. The conversation continued and James told us the story of how he and his wife built their staff and how they all have become such a supportive, loving family always watching out for and caring for each other. The food, the atmosphere, the company and conversation was perfect. It was an honor meeting James and his staff and we will definitely return every chance we get. Anyone in the pursuit of the perfectly cooked steak needs to make a trip to FarmVille North Carolina and allow James to change your mind about how beef should taste! By the way, that bottle of A1 remained on the corner of our table and was never opened. Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos of the amazing steaks we ate because we were to busy eating them. I didn’t take photos include photos of the cheesecakes. I will post my full review on Facebook.

Plank road steak house did NOT disappoint!!
I was told about plank road steak house (PRSH) back during the Covid shutdown; it was expressed how delicious the food was and the owner strived to always have the best.
Being back in FarmVille with everything back open we decided to try plank road steak house for ourselves.
We were able to walk to the restaurant from the house we were staying at 0.3 miles away.
The walk through the quaint town of FarmVille is most enjoyable as the town is beautiful.
Upon arriving to the restaurant the aroma that met us blocks away had our mouths watering with anticipation.
We were greeted at the front entrance by two very friendly hostess (asked if we had reservations “no”) however there was no wait and our table was located in the back closer to the bar.
Our waitress was prompt an immediately took our drink order.
I first tried the fuzzy navel an ole favorite of mine. The drink was smooth and flavorful it was easy on the stomach. The next drink was surprise and I remember the name moonlight, it came out in a martini glass and was tasty.

Our orders were as follows;
Starters:
Potato skins

Main entree:
Grilled Salmon with herb butter
Steamed green beans and asparagus

Sirloin steak (medium)
Asparagus and steamed broccoli

We both were very impressed with each meal.
The steak was super tender full of flavor and unbelievable taste.
The grilled salmon was also full of flavor and super tasty. The vegetables were cooked well and we had no complaints.

The service was friendly prompt and attentive.

We give it two thumbs up
We will definitely be going back.

Wife and I made our first visit here this past weekend.01/14/22
We did not have a reservation but we were able to be seated immediately at a bar height table in the bar area, which was fine for us.
Our waitress, Theresa, was very helpful and attentive. Our food come out quickly. I had the BBQ Pork Chop which was cooked perfectly to order and was so juicy and tender. Very good.
Wife had a burger that she said was wonderful.
Appetizer was potato skins which were good. Drinks were well made also. We ordered a Chocolate Confusion dessert to go. We had it later on and it was fantastic and not too rich.
Thanks to Theresa and the rest of the staff for making our first visit a great experience.

What an unexpected little pleasure!!! I had their ribeye steak and their quality/delivery could rival any of the big city steak houses. Awesome atmosphere, quaint interior – a memorable dining experience. During our meal the village cowboy/ drunk wandered in and visited a few tables including our table. After sitting himself down he asks for exactly $4 dollars, followed by asking how much it would cost to eat at the restaurant but before we could answer the manager took care of him and whisked him away…..an awesome dinner with a show.

This place is awesome….. and I’m hard to please…
I rarely eat out and I’m almost always disappointed because the food is almost never as good as i fix at home.
This place, though, is amazing. I’d go back again. Most of my meal was a 10, several items were am 8 but it was all very good.
Btw, i only tried it because I’m a trucker and got stuck in this town for the weekend.

Just an overall great experience! The food was exceptional and perfectly cooked! Also the salad bar is the best in town with anything and everything you could ever want on a salad! My husband and I were celebrating him getting his taste and smell back after 103 days since he got covid19. We chose the seared tuna for our appetizer, it was divine! Definitely recommend! ❤

I’ve heard lots of good things about this place. Apparently, my wife and I came on the wrong day. It wasn’t that busy in the dinning area. No waiting to get seated, however they did have a party. I’m guessing they were understaffed. This place is overrated. We should have ate somewhere in Greenville but decided to give Farmville a chance.

Let’s start off with the ambience of the place. It was nice. The dining area was simple. They had a nice bar area and outdoor seating. They had live music. We didn’t get served right away. In fact, I was ready to get our own drinks because no one came to our table. The wine selection isn’t great. The salad bar was open, but we didn’t know you were only allowed one trip. So make sure you load up that plate. The bacon wrap scallop appetizer was delicious but you only get six small pieces the size of an average grape. Our food took forever to get to the table and when it did, the food tasted bland or dry. I always order a filet minion at new places to see if I could find that juicy buttery taste I once got from Fleming’s in Raleigh. I was disappointed. I ordered medium rare, I got rare… literally. It didn’t have any flavor. The baked potato was dry. My wife got the ribeye medium rare, it too was bland. No flavor.

Our waitress was no longer available because she was tending to the party. Some other lady was nice and tried to comfort us. She even gave me a small discount for my steak. Overall, terrible experience. We won’t be back.

My Mom attended an event at this restaraunt and raved about the steak for a week! She loved it so much she asked to be taken there for her birthday dinner! The food tastes great and the service is impeccable! Ask for Dana when you go she’ll take good care of you! A nice change if you want a break from Greenville without having to take the extra drive to Raleigh!

This was my second time at Plank Road and it didn’t disappoint. The first visit was during the summer where we ate outside with live music. The food was amazing. Our second was Valentine’s Dinner. Unfortunately they were out of the NY Strip, but the chef took time to visit our table and offer something else. The steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely will be going back!
