When we saw this place open earlier than the place where we were originally planned to have breakfast, right away we headed to here.
Food and service all was good. The eggs was perfectly how we requested.
We enjoyed their dishes and the only thing new to us was the tortillas.. it was huge as matter of fact at the end of paying the bills we saw we got charged for 2 tortillas $6. When our waitress Lizette took our orders she offered us the tortillas at first I was hesitant either say yes or not because I wasn’t so sure if I can even be able to finish everything and when she saw me not so sure then she said that came with the dish.
So I was like yeah sure why not.. but apparently they were not came with the dish that we had.
Anyway it is what it is next time we know overall was good place to have Costa Rican food in here.

Came here for the first time tonight and was met with extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I came in with my family at 6:20PM and was treated extremely nasty because we came somewhat close to closing time (7PM) which was unknown to our knowledge since on Google it says 8:30PM. We only found out about the real closing time because my aunt asked the waitress what time they closed because of the attitude she was giving us and she gave her a look and processed to rudely respond “7PM”. Once I had ordered one of the plate options (casado) I heard the staff talking bad exclaiming that the plate I ordered was too much work. I didn’t ask to be treated this way, these ladies are just too rude! had me in disbelief the entire time.

Extraordinary Costa Rican food in a simple and inviting bistro setting. We LOVED the Chifrijo. The black beans and white rice with the fried pork morsals were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The Olla de carne (traditional beef and vegetable soup) was so delicious. The empanadas are huge, we shared the carne y queso one, can’t wait to try the chicken next time. We will definitely be back.

Very good restaurant, definitely one of my top favorite Costa Rican restaurants in NJ! I would personally recommend the gallo pinto with carne and salsa meal that comes with everything! And add the natilla (sour cream) to a bit of the gallo pinto. The people are also nice.

Incredible food. Very authentic only issue is the language barrier, but the menu is both in english and spanish. Other than that, wow hidden gem.

The staff here is very rude and not very welcoming of the LGBTQ+ Community. The server purposely made remarks regarding my gender identity and several of the other staff kept staring at me and giving me very negative looks as well as the attitude and atmosphere changed when the server realized I was LGBTQ+ was also misgendered and constantly referred to out of my gender expression several times throughout the visit. Every time she came to the table she made a remark and her energy was plain out nasty, out of spite and ignorance which was chosen. Very closed minded and disrespectful staff. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Stay away if you’re part of the community these people are not friendly, welcoming nor respectful of anything outside their rudimentary and outdated beliefs.
