While I was in the Laurel area temporarily, I stopped by here a couple of times for lunch. I really enjoyed the chicken curry which was full of flavor, came in a generous portion, and was reasonably priced. The side vegetables were also quite good.

Negril Jamaican Eatery really surprised me! I ordered oxtails with white rice, cabbage, and one beef patty… but after one bite I ran back and got two more because it was THAT good. The oxtails were so soft they were practically sliding off the bone on their own. I don’t even like lima beans, but somehow they made them taste amazing. And the dumplings? A rare blessing most Jamaican spots don’t bother with. Everything was hitting… honestly, the whole meal had me ready to come back the next day.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was back home. The vibes were high, the music was nice, and the food? Top notch! The jerk pork was the best I’ve had since leaving Jamaica…perfectly seasoned, tender and full of flavor. Everything tasted authentic like how it is supposed to. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was quick. Big respect to the chef – I’ll definitely be back.

I had the curry chicken with rice and veg. It was quite tasty, inexpensive and the portion size was good, but there were a little bones ground up with the chicken so lotsa spitting. Seems this place is mostly focused on takeout and food delivery business. I ordered at the counter, tipped and was expecting to sit and eat but there’s hardly any seating. They called my number, gave me a big to-go bag and charged me for the bag. A bottle of their own branded water was overpriced.

I haven’t eaten at Negril in years because I no longer live near any. When I saw one near my office, I couldn’t help but get me some. This Negril in Laurel, MD lived up to my memories. My food was packed well, tasted delicious and filled my belly. I ordered the snapper and all the patties, shrimp, chicken and spinach. The sorrel drink and the sourdough drink were both amazing! I was hungry…no pics.

I mainly order through Uber Eats. Guys, the chicken soup is ALWAYS on point! Well flavored and nice portion. I am addicted. I order it several times a week. Give it a try. I eat it year round and I am a good cook. I love the red snapper and everything else but the soup is always on point!
