Okay, first off — it’s Mexican food, what’s not to love? Perfect for ALL occasions! Date night, family night, you name it — this place is the place to gooooo .
PHENOMENAL FOOD. I got the ultimate grilled cheese burrito and the birria quesadilla. THEY SMACK! The flavors and seasoning are top tier — I honestly don’t even know which one was better. The cheesy goodness of the burrito and the birria sauce were so yummy that every bite left me wanting just one more. 10/10 recommend. Shoot, even Gordon Ramsay would leave this place happy!
I just can’t get over how satisfied I am.
Service? 100000/10. Jose and his father run this fine establishment by themselves, and they make you feel truly appreciated. They have amazing energy, and you can tell they’re genuinely happy to be there! They go above and beyond to make sure you get your money’s worth and that everyone leaves happy. Jose even came outside multiple times to make sure I was enjoying my meal — that kind of customer service is such a rarity!

Stellar food from a stellar crew! Robert and the rest of the guys in the truck were personal and friendly, helping our staff decide what different dishes to try, and their recommendations were spectacular! Food came quicker than expected for our large order and everything was incredible! The wet burrito sauce is to die for, along with the consomé that comes with the birria! Come hungry, because you will get your fill! And whatever you do, get it with grilled cheese! You won’t regret it!

So after hearing the quality of food others has recieved from Throwback Taco’s and their personal opinions, I finally had the chance to indulge in this well priced, and delicious food.
The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. From the homemade corn tortilla’s to the tender steak that filled em.
It was exactly what everybody was ranting about, highly highly recommend if you want that tasteful, well priced eats!

These are some legit tacos. I don’t know of anywhere else in west Michigan that uses homemade tortillas. For me a the tortilla makes or breaks a taco and their tortillas were amazing. I tried the al pastor and carnitas tacos and both were incredible. The carnitas was flavor and a bits of crispy pork. The al pastor was juicy with a slight sweetness. The tostada was large and had a ton of toppings. They were very generous with the meat in everything. The refried bean were really good as well. They were very nicely seasoned. The only miss for me was the street corn. It was ok but it just had way to much mayo on it. With how good the tacos are, I can forgive that.
Now for the service. It took quite a while to get our food but they were pretty busy and it looked like it was just 2 guys in there so I can understand. The guys were both very friendly.

The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I got a few different types of tacos (photo is my fiance’s food) and probably liked the tacos al pastor the most. The red sauce they gave me was also perfect and I was happy to dip everything I had in it. Would recommend, and will go back.

Finally a legit and delicious taqueria in west Michigan!! The food here rivals the best you can get in southern California. We had the carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor tacos, Mexican rice, street corn, and the birria quesadilla, all 10/10. The homemade tortillas really take this spot to the next level. It was so good we will definitely be back soon, and many times over! There are two picnic tables to eat at, or it is packaged well to go.

my family and i absolutely LOVED throwback tacos! we’re usually nervous to go to food trucks but we’re so happy we tried this place. we got the shrimp tacos and chicken quesadilla, both of which were 10/10. the meat and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the flavor was perfection. we modified our orders and they executed it perfectly, making no mistakes, and gave us plenty of different sauces! although we live in indiana, i hope we can come back here someday!
