Charleston Eats
Had to give it 5 stars. Legami is proof that if you value quality and are willing to pay for it, it’s still available in Charleston’s crowded restaurant scene.
The food was outstanding, and the restaurant offers a wide array of regularly changing, high-end fare, prepared and presented to be admired on the plate. The combinations respect Italian tradition while managing to become something uniquely memorable for every palate (pasta, beef, lamb, duck, chicken, halibut, and more).
The atmosphere was great, and if dinner isn’t the end of your night, there is a club upstairs… all that said, we’re compelled to give five stars because of the way the staff managed some challenges they had.
While we hadn’t actually noticed, the tortellini dish that one in our party had ordered was so popular that the kitchen ran out. That delayed the delivery of all of our entrées because they made more, by hand, on the spot. The waiter apologized profusely, an off-menu appetizer was comped, the general manager came out to speak with us and apologize, we were given a dessert and lemoncello on the house to end our evening, and then the head chef came out to apologize as well.
A majority of those dining in our party this evening have spent time in the service industry, so we knew that something was going on when the wait staff started to crowd the service counter. We also know that these things happen, even at well run establishments. However, it was how the staff and management reacted that made the difference… acknowledging and taking the extra time to make it right.
We enjoyed our meal, the service provided by the team at Legami, and our evening.

The total experience was very good. A solid 4 and we will be back. The physical space has an elegant look and feel. So why not 5″s across the board? The little details. Our silverware and app plates were taken after the apps. So when they brought our salad to share, we had no plates or silverware and had to request plates and utensils. The 2 top tables were simply too small. Everything that came out required a shuffle or removal of something to get it on the table. Also the bar, although is very nice, lines the dining room. There is a low wall between but seemed to be a little distracting The food flavor wise was excellent. but the servings was a little on the small side. Meaning it was a good thing we ordered a couple of apps and a salad to share or we would have been hungry.
Again, this is a GREAT place and we’d love to come back. 4’s are very good! But I believe, when you are a fine dining location at this level, the little things do matter.

an absolute pleasure eating here. i came here for my birthday and i was treated like a princess. i got a complimentary dessert (crème brûlée), champagne, and lemon shots. i also got a card with all of the workers names on it saying happy birthday, which was so sweet. Naomi was our server and she killed it. talked about the drink and food menu like she was promoting it, gave great recommendations. the drinks were so good and the food was even better. the ambiance was wonderful. absolutely no complaints. perfect place for your birthday.

We had a girls dinner at Legami… and had the best time! Our server Rachel took the best care of us! She was fun, educational and made the “vibe” of the whole night. Plus the new menu was incredible! We can’t wait to come back.

Naomi at Legami is absolutely fabulous! Service was impeccable & she is such a sweetie. She gave us champagne because I had to leave and move my car so it didn’t get towed and gave us dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food was amazing and Naomi’s drink recommendations were on point. Highly recommend the shrimp & caviar for an appetizer and the Shhh! Club-Above to drink 🙂 and of course cannot go wrong with their Espresso Thy Self 🙂

Me and my husband celebrated our second wedding anniversary here and we could not have had a better meal. Naomi truly went above and beyond for our special night. We really appreciate her and all of the staff that wished us a happy anniversary at Legami. Naomi was extremely knowledgeable about drinks and the menu and helped us pick the lobster appetizer and the octopus. Unfortunately we were so excited about the octopus that we forgot to take a picture. It was tender and cut like butter. The cocktails and beer were well balanced. We then finished off with their pistachio pastry for dessert. Simply phenomenal. Thank you again Naomi!

I wanted to love this place. Walked in on a Friday night. Sat at the upstairs bar. The bartenders were great. Aside from the focaccia, the food was disappointing. I should have known better than to order the scallop crudo in the winter. The dish had a fishy smell and was borderline inedible. We ordered the fillet wellington and chicken milanesese. Both dishes were oversalted and disappointing. The chicken was bland and fried in a neutral oil. The milanesese salad completely missed the mark- oversalted and lacked acid aside from some small bits of grapefruit. The filet was barely medium rare, which I tend to like. However the puff pastry was disappointing and jus was oversalted. I wanted to love this place. I thought this was a new gem that just had availability, seems I was mistaken. The restaurant is beautiful and has so much potential.

What a fantastic experience. My fiancé and I love trying new places in Charleston. This was our first time trying the restaurant and the atmosphere was beautiful, food was delicious and the drinks were awesome as well. When we arrived we were greeted by smiling hosts and a manager as well, who seated us at our table. Our server, Jacqueline, was amazing and very attentive. We sat in the lounge upstairs which was super comfortable. We were very surprised by just how much seating the restaurant has to offer. Highly recommend and we look forward to coming back!!!

Legami has been one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Charleston and I’ve lived here for a few years. I’m a true foodie. I’ve been a chef and a bartender In my past. From the hostess to service and the food all the way to desserts. All 5 stars. Welcomed with smiling faces, and then served with excellence. Truly exceptional food and service. When I go out I want to eat something that I have a hard time making at home and they doubled that. Highly recommend!
