Small mom and pop place with good food. I tried the sushi roll which was good, loved the sushi burrito which you can customize, and we had a bowl that was great too. The pork buns are delicious and the vermicelli is good too. Quite a variety of items all done well.

Best sushi in the area that I’ve tried so far. A little too much sauce for my taste but still bomb compared to other qc restaurants.

The restaurant is a little cold and uninviting. Drink choices were limited which wasn’t a problem for me. I’ll be back.

If you’re looking for the best sushi in the quad cities, look no further. The chef, Michael, makes some of the best and most creative sushi combinations I’ve ever seen. I had the matzu and the rauw rauw, I would recommend both. Definitely worth a stop!

Delicious food, friendly service, served in a clean, no frills storefront.
I had the rainbow roll and the matzu roll, on recommendation of the chef. Both were flavorful and had nice presentation. I also tried a Bao bun, which was pleasant. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The other reviews seem overhyped to me. Fuji Pho Cafe and Red Ginger are better and cheaper. MJ’s isn’t bad, it’s just mid and overpriced.

Then again, I like basic maki rolls (which they call hand rolls for some reason—usually hand rolls are cone-shaped but they’re not here). The rice is a little overdone and not well seasoned. The spicy tuna isn’t really spicy. Your options for soy sauce are the reduced sodium kind on the tables (ehhh…) or those little packets from that one cheap brand that normally doesn’t even have soy listed as an ingredient (they do now, but it’s “soy protein” and it’s like the fourth ingredient).

That said, I think the restaurant actually caters more to the extravagant American-style sushi tastes, the kind where you pay $15 and get some wild concoction with three different kinds of fish, tons of panko crumbs, and multiple decorative sauces drizzled over everything. That’s fine, no comment there, but it isn’t what I was looking for and the maki rolls I did order were unimpressive.

Food was delicious and the presentation was amazing. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi. It’s a very casual dining place so it’s great for quicker meals. We had a sushi burrito, spring rolls and a California roll and all of them were wonderful.

It’s almost a delicatessen style restaurant, which is a nice change. Jessica was so kind and helpful in finding something that would suit someone with me who is new and cautious when it comes to sushi style food. While not completely authentic (as someone else pointed out), it definitely suits my taste buds well. I live about 90 miles away and would make the drive just to eat here. We were more than satisfied with the food, service, and atmosphere. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food. It was beautiful!

Small, family-owned and operated diner style establishment. Centrally located in historic downtown Davenport with street access and parking. Close to several different entertainment options. The inside is clean and simple with a few booths and a deli-esque counter. The menu is large and varied. Lots of classic and specialty rolls in addition to sushimi, burritos and bowls. All reasonably priced (avg $15) for the quality and quantity. The rolls are well prepared and presented. The 3 spring rolls for $8 were delicious as well. The service was fast and friendly. All in all it was a very pleasant dining experience. They weren’t busy as we were there mid-afternoon but I will definitely be back the next time we stay in that area. Highly recommended.

This new sushi spot is a QC gem! Conveniently located in downtown Davenport, walkable from the bar district makes it the perfect spot to start an evening out! We got the gyoza and the Alaskan roll, both fantastic! Highly recommend this spot to anyone!
