First time walking into this spot, and let me just say—what an experience! I came in to try the oxtails, and they did not disappoint. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and not overly fatty. Paired with the Jamaican rice, which was soft and fluffy, it was perfection.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff shows true hospitality, making you feel right at home. I also tried one of their Jamaican drinks—refreshing and packed with flavor, definitely a must-have! The empanadas with spiced meat had just the right kick to balance everything out.
If I had one small critique, it would be the plantains—I think if they made them fresh to order, it would take them to the next level.
Overall though, this place is a gem in Oceanside. Pricing is fair, portions are generous, and the food quality is phenomenal. For me, it’s a strong 9.2/10 and an easy 5/5 stars. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food, this is THE spot to check out!

We loved the food, the super-friendly staff, and the fun Island vibe of this adorable restaurant. We are huge fans of Jamaican food and enjoyed the authentic flavors of classics like jerk chicken,

I felt the LOVE. Thank you for the delicious food. Someone in the kitchen loves me. I went there every day for my OMAD and Ital diets while on vacation in Oceanside. Husband joined me a few days later. We ate and had a great time. Thanks again. All you vegans out there and germ phobes, there is a place for us at One Love. Try it for yourself and see.

All I can say is flavor blast! One of the best unique places in the area.
Small shop offering take-out only. Took about 10 minutes for our order, about $14 for each plate after taxes.
The meats are SO tender. The flavors are strong. Portions are large. There’s really no reason not to try this place. You’ll love it

Love the food here! It’s our first time and we inhaled our meals I had the brown stew chicken w rice, plantains and stewed cabbage. Hubby had coconut curry chicken, rice, collard greens and salad. The chicken was sooo tender in both dishes and generous portions. I had already started eating before taking the photo so disregard the bare bone on the top of the dish- I immediately dug into the tender chicken that was falling off the bone. Highly recommend…. now to make it to beach to walk off our lunch (or nap lol)!

One Love Island Cuisine is a hidden gem in Carlsbad (San Diego area). Hands down the best Curry and Oxtail in Southern California. I grew up in NYC, surrounded by the best Caribbean food in North America, so my bar is high. One Love surpassed all my expectations. The flavors are authentic and addictive. Honestly, this might be some of the best food I’ve ever had. I wish I could give them 10 stars.

The food was good! The one big complaint I have is that certain dishes are very spicy! I can handle medium amounts of spice and it was too much for me. Make sure when ordering, you make sure you ask what is spicy so you don’t order something you can barely eat. They have a large selection of drinks that you can try. The ones I tried were very good. The staff was also very friendly.
