Haven Wine & Cheese is a full restaurant and wine bar in the Willows neighborhood of Menlo Park. Proudly female- and POC-owned, it was created by two friends who live just around the corner. We serve seasonal entrées and small plates made with locally sourced ingredients, along with artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and the largest tinned fish selection in North America. Join us for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch on our covered patio, where guests can dine year-round. Haven also offers a curated wine club, unique bottles to shop, and special events like winemaker talks and charcuterie classes. More than a restaurant, Haven is a neighborhood retreat built around food, wine, and community.

Yes, yes and yes!! Such a great place and a great location in the small neighborhood of The Willows in Menlo Park. Plenty of parking, although it’s a little tight at times. Awesome wine selection, a good number of beers, cheese/meat boards and a tin fish selection that is four full pages long. If you like things like canned oysters, mackerel, octopus or sardines with a glass of wine, you should be here. And why aren’t you here right now?

My server Iris recommended three lovely tins outside my comfort zone (curried mussels, octopus in garlic, and stickleback) and a French wine to pair them with. She brought over some tastes of the wine before I committed.
The bread was super crusty and warm. The accompanying salad (make it a board +9) could have been bigger.
The heaters in the back patio make it hospitable to sit without a sweater outside.

Haven Wine’s was perfect for us this year. We read about the founders, persona and culinary food and wine options online. July 17th was our 6th anniversary. We met at Vino Locale in Palo Alto and had gone there on our first three anniversaries. The last two years we tried new local wine places.
What made it so special?
– Owners Lea and Sam created a homey friendly atmosphere
– Servants such as ours (Liz) are maniacally attentive and kind
– We were greeted with small complimentary glasses of Cava
– Food choices are surprisingly broad. Tinned Fish is their unique offering, and a very broad choice across multiple continents
– Wine choices are great. A small set by the glass. A large wall of choices by the bottle. Plus, no corkage fees
– Even the tip is calculated on base charges, not base plus tax

What a beautiful, friendly and welcoming addition! The staff was so warm and engaging and the farm to table grab and go Cesar salad is delicious. I especially love the wine selection and being introduced to new winemakers and wineries. I look forward to many friend and business lunches here as well as fun evenings out! What a great way to start the summer!

Highly recommend. The food and wine were excellent. I ordered summer bruschetta and gazpacho. Both had a wonderful depth of flavor and were beautifully presented. My husband had a kielbasa plate with their special potato salad and pickled vegetables made in-house. He was very pleased. They offer an impressive variety of tinned fish and we brought several to take home. We will return.

Good and interesting wine and bubbles selection, tasty food, some of the most impressive charcuterie boards I’ve ever seen, and the biggest, most interesting collection of tinned fish I ever knew possible. Relaxing and fun, highly recommend!

Gorgeous location with a creative and efficient menu. Unless you are wanting tinned fish, then they have the largest ‘spaghetti factory’ menu of tinned fish in the western hemisphere. I didn’t know octopus came in a tin!
