THIS FOOD NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!!!! My favorite Asian place for take out. Everything you order is 5 star. My personal favorites are the House Wonton Soup and the Beef Spring Rolls (which are made in-house and I’ve never had anywhere else)! I am a seasoning and condiments person – but their food needs Nothing added! The owner remembers customers by name, even there I only go about 1x per month. Call way ahead to pick up your food – if she says See you in 15 minutes, it may be 20-25… It’s worth the wait!! Hibachi place next door doesn’t stay as busy as MK’s – for good reason. I don’t like to dine in because it’s a small space and feels crowded, but take out it the way to go! I’ve tried other places all over AU-Opelika… this is THE ONE.

MK’s is the best Asian cuisine in the Auburn/Opelika area by far. The egg rolls are perfect. Hot and sour soup is superb. Kung Pao Chicken is just spicy enough but not too spicy! Highly recommend this restaurant!

This used to be my go to place for Chinese. The prices skyrocketed, which if the food was good or better would be fine. But the food was not good. The crab ragoon had hardly any filling and no flavor. The egg roll was extremly bland and greasy. The almost $10 quart of wonton soup had the same amount of wonton I get for $4 at the Chinese place on peppered. Save your money.

I use to eat here years ago and it was great. Recently I tried to place my usual order since I was in the area and was told they couldn’t do it because it “takes too long to prepare” (egg foo young). I called 4 hours before closing. Place has gone downhill. Lost my business for good.

Good food. However, the prices are not the best considering portion size. Lunch portion sizes are significantly less than dinner. Egg rolls are even smaller at lunch. It can get crowded here as the dining room is on the small side, and the wait for to go orders can be a little long when busy.

When I went in to place my to-go order (the restaurant was not full) the lady at the counter said it would be 20 to 25 minutes I said okay, I’ll wait. Placed my ordered. Walked next door and picked up another to-go order at the restaurant next door. Came back and sat down to wait on my order. Thirty minutes passed, three families received their food and finished it. Along with 4 to-go orders were picked up. I walked up to the counter and said I was just checking on my order and the lady at the counter VERY rudely stated “I told you it was going to be a wait.” I then told her I no longer wanted my order then she said it was ready. Bottom line is, I waited 30 minutes and didn’t not get my to-go order and the lady was VERY rude about it. I would not recommend eating here based on her response of the situation.

If you are a black person you are not welcome in this place. I was the second table when I get seated, in few minutes few seated and Togo order pick up. The lady brought my sprit order but totally ignored me and started yo serve the tables who came in after me. Seated and waited but she totally ignored me to take my order. I was not a person to be offended for racial classification, but this was obvious. The gusts before me was wondering what was going on. After i realized the situation, I offered to pay for the sprite didn’t touch it, she said that is okay , as if she is glad I left , no question asked, no apology the experience I never had. It was the Worst place to be.

MK’s Asian Kitchen is hands-down one of our favorite spots in the area! The service is always friendly and impressively fast, whether we’re ordering in person or calling ahead for takeout. The menu has all the classic favorites you’d expect—lo mein, sesame chicken, fried rice, egg rolls—but what really sets MK’s apart are their rotating specials and more traditional dishes that you don’t often see elsewhere. Everything we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned.
They do offer dine-in options, but the space is pretty simple—nothing fancy—so we typically opt for takeout, which has always been convenient and well-packaged. MK’s is a great local gem in Opelika, and we’re so glad to have it nearby when we want a quick, satisfying meal that never disappoints.
