Acai bowl had very fresh fruit and was very delicious. Cold brew coffee was also great!

Located right on a street next to different restaurants. This place has a cozy and bright atmosphere where students would come and study at as well.
The server where you order at was super nice and friendly. He was so helpful when I was ordering, and made sure that the customizations I made is understood by the staff who were making my bowl and drink.
The açaí was nice and refreshing, and the coffee was delicious (perfect sweetness).
Overall, I definitely recommend this coffee shop and will come back again.

The environment is good if you don’t mind the old sofa. Waffle and cafe is poor. Currently they use the take-out box for all food so don’t expect to see the beautiful looking like their official photos. You may ask for paper plate if you ask in advance. The service is fair.

The standard sweetness level was too sweet for the latte, it was just straight syrup. We didn’t try the pastries but they looked dry and not fresh. The atmosphere was bleached from its previous wooden glory and there are 6 ramen machines for some reason but we didn’t see a single one used the whole time. The staff are nice and make the drink quickly.

Decent place to study and grab a quick bite. Got an acai bowl which was a little expensive but suppose that’s the standard for fresh fruit. Wifi wasn’t slow but blocked access to some standard academic sites (GitHub, PubMed, etc.) so be wary about that if you’re doing work.

It’s literally so cute in here, the coffee is amazing, and they have so many options!

Went here recently – it was packed! We had a hard time getting a seat, lots of students that study here—especially on weekends! Finally got a seat and had a nice lunch.
Ordered the Ham & Egg Sandwich, and for $8, it was HUGE! The sandwich was also delicious, ham was present, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the toppings also made the sandwich that much better.
Service and atmosphere are both nice as well. Will be back for sure!

Every single review posted before Summer 2025 should be ignored. This place underwent a huge renovation / “remodelling” during Summer 2025 and the end result is horrific. The warm, rich, cozy vibes/palette have been gutted; the comfortable, whimsical booths and seating arrangements are gone; and the menu has changed. What was once an incredible cafe and gathering spot is now just grey, soulless slop.

My go-to is always a latte and an acai bowl. The latte is good and the acai bowl is alright but the last time i went the granola was weird. Servers are nice but it usually takes a while to get your food.

It has been renovated and completely lost the vibe of the authentic Caffe Bene. A lot of tables have been removed, and I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s summer break and the campus is less crowded. The menu is no longer the original Caffe Bene menu, and the beverages are overpriced and taste poor. They now add both a 3% credit card surcharge and a separate 3% service fee, which were not charged in the past (I think). The service fee was not optional either, as it was automatically added to the bill. If you miss the original Caffe Bene experience, I recommend going to the one in Urbana. I would not visit this location on Green Street again.
