Stopped here for dinner on our way home from Thanksgiving and were blown away by the food and service. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh. The fry on the catfish was so light, shrimp were big and juicy. Homemade tartar sauce had a light garlic aoili taste and the homemade cocktail sauce was flavorful and peppery. Our server Karen was very inviting and helpful with our three kids. She made us feel at ease and matched the kids energy. We will definitely be coming back here at the first opportunity.. Hopefully to try the buffet so we can see more of what they have to offer.

Went here a little while back, and the food was just okay. We weren’t blown away or anything. Our daughter’s burger was very undercooked in the middle and the flavor was just okay. I got their catfish and it wasn’t too bad. Overall I see others raving about this place (hence why we went), but for the price and food quality, I probably won’t be making a second trip to Chappell Hill for this restaurant. I’m glad others are having great experiences. I will say, the customer service was 100% a 5/5 star! So…. that’s a positive!

Our family eats here a couple times a month when we get a crawfish/seafood craving. They’re food is outstanding and very reasonably priced. If you’re hankering for some delicious fried catfish, crawfish, crabs, jumbo shrimp, or whatever seafood you’re craving they have it and the prices are very reasonable. I highly reccomend this place for your seafood feast.

Quick Review – overall an ok place to eat. I tried their buffet and some crawfish to see a variety of the food they served. The food is ok it’s not seasoned heavily so is a bit bland. The spice levels are on the lower ends of scale too. Staff though is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is ok for a casual dining set up.

Food and Price – As a seafood restaurant in a small town the food is overall ok. Nothing I ate was bad, just nothing remarkable or that stood out. The food on their buffet is under seasoned including the chicken batter on the fried chicken. Cost are 15-40 for most stuff on the menu per person.
Cleanliness – restaurant was clean and well maintained
Staff – staff was friendly attentive and engaging. They were the overall stars of the experience here. Made an ok meal experience great!
Final thoughts – it’s a good place to eat and the quality is fine but you will remember the staff over the food. Overall 3 stars since it was good but not memorable food wise.

Stopped by in the hope of a fairly quick lunch as it was not very crowded. The server really pushed the buffet which did not interest us, not into eating a ton of precooked and warmed food. We ordered drinks which came pretty quick. They have a lot on their menu but most of it leans towards fried foods. We ordered a serving of the fried pickles, the popcorn shrimp with fries and the seafood Po’boy with onion rings. The salad with the shrimp came out pretty fast but was drenched in Ranch dressing. Then we waited and waited. Only one server taking orders, getting food to tables, bussing as well as running the cash register. Not her fault but our food took almost 45 minutes to come out.
Now I do have to say it was hot and tasted fresh, no fishiness or anything. Servings were large. Server dropped off the check, we asked for some to-go boxes. That took another 10 minutes with all she had to do. Finally paid and left but used the restroom and man, it was a mess. Wet floors, dirty urinal and the sink was so bad I didn’t want to get near it.
Won’t be back to this place even if the fried food was pretty good.

Brandon is the best server there. Typically, we eat one dinner and share it. The portions are big enough for two. The quality of the food is fantastic and we always have good conversation with the staff. We are regulars now and we always choose A J, seafood and steak.

This place is a gem! The food is fabulous! Everything is fresh & you get a huge portion and the prices are great! I have eaten at so many places around the world at this is up there at the top of my list. I was blown away at this little place in Chappell hill. I would pick this over Pappadeaux any day. Run don’t walk to go eat here. It was very clean inside and the waitstaff was so nice . I wish I had a pic of our food. I don’t typically write reviews but It’s to good not too.
