I love this restaurant and it has been a gem since it arrived in Midland a few years ago. I ate here a few times with my mom and my friend. I’ve tried the specials and butter chicken and chana masala for a vegan option. I’ve picked up takeout before too. The naan is really amazing. I am mainly vegan or plant based so the chana masala is really good. It’s a chickpea curry. There’s plenty of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is awesome in this place. They play Indian music on the tv and it smells amazing in the restaurant. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other restaurants and you can get a meal for around $20. We got complementary water. This place got closed temporarily for sanitary reasons because of a health inspection. I felt sad because I thought it would close and we would lose an amazing first Indian restaurant in the midland area. They updated and cleaned the kitchen and got back to business and obviously passed the health inspection. This is a great restaurant. Midland area really needed an Indian restaurant and hopefully the community can explore culinarily and enjoy some of the exotic flavours of India! I enjoy this place and I know you will too.

Small karahi paneer and small rice. Ate a full plate with a take out dish left for lunch tomorrow for around $25. Great deal for the assortment of flavour and quality of rice. Looking forward to exploring some more flavors on their menu. Great choice for someone looking to get a break from traditional canadian foods. Picture is leftovers after eating a full plate.

Had a great dining experience at Maitreya Indian Restaurant in Midland. The food was fresh, flavourful, and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the butter chicken and biryani, authentic taste and generous portions.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was prompt. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and is a good option for both dine-in and takeout.

Overall, a very good Indian restaurant in Midland. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.

I decided to try Maitreya Indian Cuisine for the first time today and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I will 100% be going back.

Food was made fresh and flavours were delicious. Staff were amazing as well. I ordered the paneer protein bowl – see picture below. Way more food than I expected! Could easily feed two people if you added an order of samosas.

Lots of vegetarian options as well as meat ones. The menu also lets you know how spicy any particular dish might be, but if you’re worried, let your server know and they can adapt it for your comfort level surprised it took me so long to try this place!

I always get Samosa Chaat when I go to a new curry place just so I get a good idea of their food (freshness of ingredients, spiciness, generosity of portions), and I have to say the one I had tonight was the richest (and spiciest) I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t have pomegranate seeds on this one, and they would have been welcome, but the chutney, tomatoes, onion, and yogurt were all perfectly balanced. The samosas were huge and the plate was really generous all together, so I highly recommend as long as you don’t mind some pretty strong spice. If you need to have it a bit less spicy, maybe ask for a bit extra yogurt, but I really loved it.

Can’t wait to have more from their menu!

We order take out. We started with Pakora which was delicious and the dip sauce was a nice addition. For dinner we ordered Butter Chicken, Chana Masala and goat curry all medium heat and jeera rice. We also got an order of Garlic naan. The food was very good. My only complaint would be the bones in the Goat Curry. For most this wouldn’t be an issue but I don’t like bones in my food. We had more then enough food to have two meals and leftovers still.

Very bad experience. I ordered chicken lollipop, and it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was stale and smelled rotten definitely not fresh. It was so bad that I couldn’t even keep it in the room; I had to take it outside and throw it far from the hotel because of the unbearable stench. Completely unacceptable. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Average restaurant, but just one proper Indian restaurant we got in Midland.

Taste varies from time to time, they should maintain consistency.

Before chole bhature were very delicious, but now chole are very tangy with big pieces of tomatoes.

Samosas are nice though.

Pricing is on lower side.
