We had brisket, pork belly, and the sweet marinated chicken, and the chicken was the standout. The others were good, but the chicken had that extra flavor from the marinade.
The side were really good, We especially enjoyed the sesame salad. I would like the option for a refill on veggies, but it wasn’t offered to us.
The complimentary tea had a funky barley flavor that was really nice and earthy.
We will be back to try the hot pot!
Service: 5/5 (Great service!)
Atmosphere: (amazing vibe!)
I loved, loved, loved the experience at BAPS Home Style Korean BBQ Cuisine 밥스 식당! Located in Lansing, Michigan, this restaurant gives you the opportunity to sit around the table and grill your own food. Amazing!
The food was awesome! I enjoyed grilling Ribeye, Porkbelly, Boneless Shortribs, and marinated Pork. The rice rolls and super spicy chicken wings were a hit as well. The only downfall of the grill was that it was electric and we had to cook on a piece of parchment paper, but other than that, the food was outstanding!
The service was phenomenal! There was one staff member who was supervising two large parties, explained the menu plainly, and didn’t miss a beat in serving. She was great!
The atmosphere was my favorite! Very homie, great decor, lovely lights, grills, flags, and great vibe! The restaurant was amazing!
All in all, BAPS Home Style Korean BBQ Cuisine 밥스 식당 was very good. I throughly enjoyed the experience.
The guys shared the intestine hot pot, which would have served 4 guys well. Good portions, and pretty authentic. Though we’ve had better.
A friend stone bowl bulgogi very much. Not too salty, and good as a soup almost, with plenty of mushrooms.
I had the beef short rib soup. I asked for the noodles on the side, and was told that was not possible. But they were able to take it out completely. I’m assuming that they cook the noodles in the soup rather than separately and add it in. The dish was pretty standard.
Overall, not bad.
Looking at the portions and the cooking, I’d come back for hot pot or bbq, and feel like their Army Hot Pot or Tteokbokki Hot Pot would be pretty good.
Not sure that I’d go out of my way to revisit though. On the way, for sure.
