This place is owned by a customer focused restaurateur originally from Montenegro. The chefs are Italian though.
We tried the Minestrone soup, the spinach ravioli in tomato sauce and the pesto spaghetti. All three dishes were well prepared, ingredients were fresh, very aromatic and excellent portions.
The service was quick and professional.
Highly recommended.
They had our food ready within a few mins and we were given a portion of hot sauce to try with it.
We loved the pizza, super base and loads of tasty toppings.
We can not recommend il Fornello highly enough, absolutely first class.
I chose the Capricciosa pizza—tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, ham, eggs, and olives. Just reading the description made my mouth water. While waiting, I enjoyed a glass of red wine, easily the best I’ve had in a long time. The aroma of the pizza as it baked in the brick oven was irresistible, and when it arrived with its thin crust and lightly charred edges, I couldn’t wait to get back to my hotel to enjoy it.
At around 8 or 9 p.m., after a full day exploring Nyon and Montreux, this meal was the perfect way to end the night. The flavors were outstanding—authentic, satisfying, and far beyond what you’d expect from any chain pizza back home. Domino’s doesn’t even come close!
I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re a tourist visiting from the United States. It’s a true taste of Geneva hospitality and quality. Merci
