A little noisy on their $5 burger basket nights! You get your $5 worth though. The buns are perfectly toasted which is a nice touch. We’ve been to a bingo night there and it was a fun free winter activity. We also went during a busier night and waited for 15 minutes before getting our cups of water It’s a bustling little place.

This place needs a bigger sign. It’s awesome. Great cheese curds. The burgers were a 10. And the side sauces were so good for the fries. Very clean and beautiful cabin atmosphere. The lava cake was a 10.

$5 burger baskets on Bingo night were GREAT – what a deal! Will definitely be back for those next time.

First off, major credit to the waitress (EVE)— she was handling everything solo: tables, the bar, and outside dining.
Eve, you were running your tail off, and it showed. You did the best you could with the hand you were dealt, and we appreciate the effort.

As for the food: it was decent — I’d give it a 7 out of 10. Prices were reasonable, which was a plus.

What an hidden treat this is! The grounds leading up to the cookhouse are just beautiful. Seeing the lady slippers blooming was stunning. Mikaela was our server. She seemed a little shy at first but once we started to joke with her she was awesome. We all loved our food. The dinner rolls were so good that my husband needed to order more. Having the desert menu on the table makes you want that as your hungry when you get there. We ordered the toffee peach cobbler, that was so good! We will be back as there are so many items on the menu we want to try!

We had a wonderful time. Our group of 4 each ordered a different meal; every meal was fantastic. Cooked to perfection. The unique cocktails and desserts were fun. A highlight for me was the smoked red wine. Thank you for a great experience, can’t wait to go back.

We were there this last weekend with another couple. 35 mile drive one way and so disappointing. Our friends had steak that were really tough, carrots weren’t cooked with no taste, beans tasted like they came right out of a can, asparagus had no taste except for wine. They forgot my husband’s food so his came out about 10 minutes after ours. He said his burger was good but his fries were literally dripping with grease and he couldn’t eat them because they weren’t even cooked. “Loaded” baked potato had just a tiny bit of cheese and bacon on it. Around $160 between the 4 of us. Never again. Best thing about this place is the scenery.

So bad, it’s really sad. The food on the brunch buffet was cold and uncooked (raw hash browns) despite arriving when the place opened. The guy trying to make omelets either didn’t have the right pans or didn’t know how to make them… so scrambled. The line comes to a grinding halt with everyone trapped in a corner waiting for waffles or eggs after their plates are filled from the line. Cold food if you wanted either. Only syrup was from a bottle that poured so slowly that it wasn’t worth the wait and the butter was rock hard. The “coffee cake” was tasteless and dry. The dessert bars were stale and too hard to bite into. Beverages are 100% self serve with juice from small cans and barely warm coffee. No sneeze guards to prevent spread of germs.

We’re local and wanted to support a business that’s going to take a hit from Hwy. 34 construction but the 5 of us will not be back. It was easily the worst restaurant experience in several years.

Pros: It is quaint and looks nice outside. The warm bread and seasoned butters were very good.
Cons: My “medium rare” steak was beyond well done, and very dry. Wife’s salmon was dry and overcooked as well. The rice and beans lacked flavor as did the veggies.

We really did want to like this place but the food was really not good, so we won’t be back.

Have no complaints about the Cookhouse. We each had a different dinner and every one of us where very expressed with the dishes. The menu is different than you will find in the area and they take pride in the food. The General manager/Head Cook came and checked on us and the food as well. They have options for everyone. If you don’t want a big dinner they have burgers and sandwiches as well. Excited to come back and give a different dish a try!
