We come to this Cantonese restaurant often—it has a lot of character and feels like a long-established spot with very refined dishes. My favorite is their claypot rice: the crispy rice at the bottom is fragrant, the seasoning is authentic, and it’s rich without being greasy. This time we also ordered a seafood vermicelli claypot, which was impressive. The satay sauce was aromatic, and the seafood was cooked perfectly—very tender.

I’m also a big fan of their fig and pork soup, served bubbling hot in a clay pot. It’s deeply comforting and clearly a slow-simmered traditional soup. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a satisfying Cantonese meal.

Ordered the silver fish with salt and pepper for takeout. It was much better than we expected. Perfectly crispy and addictive to eat. Did not even get soggy on the way home.

I’ve dined at Victoria Seafood nearly 10 times because the food is undeniably delicious and most of the staff are warm, attentive, and truly wonderful. I’ve built great rapport with several of them. That’s why it’s so disappointing that one particular “creature” consistently ruins the entire experience: an elderly man who appears to be either the manager or the owner.

His behavior has been nothing short of arrogant, demeaning, and shockingly unprofessional. Here are just a few examples:
1. “NOT MY JOB!” — Total Refusal to Help a Waiting Customer
During a busy lunch, a customer politely asked if he could please help bring the tea, as the table had been waiting for quite some time. A reasonable and respectful request. His response? He raised his voice and snapped, “NOT MY JOB!”, then stood idly near the table, deliberately refusing to help. The contempt in his tone and body language was astonishing.
2. Aggressive Hand Gestures with No Words — Treated Like a Nuisance
I was seated at a table for four and had already received the menu. Suddenly, this man came over, said nothing, and began aggressively waving his hands at me, making sharp, dismissive noises like “ehhh ehhh ehhh” — signaling for me to move to a smaller table. No words. No “excuse me.” Just pure rudeness, as if I had done something wrong by simply sitting where I was told. It was humiliating and completely uncalled for.
3. Abrupt, Arrogant Dismissal of a Simple Reservation Request
On another occasion, I tried to reserve a table for four for the next evening. Before I could finish my sentence, he cut me off and snapped, “No need to book for tomorrow! Just come! No reservation!” The tone was dismissive and unnecessarily aggressive. It felt like he was scolding me for even trying to plan ahead.

The rest of the team is lovely, and the food truly is fantastic. But this one man’s arrogance and lack of basic respect consistently overshadow what should be an enjoyable dining experience.

This creature should not be allowed to damage the reputation of an otherwise excellent restaurant. If he is the owner, then I hope he reflects on how his attitude is driving loyal customers away and realizes that good food alone cannot make up for disrespectful service.

Food is substandard. Dry fried beef chow foon has too much bean sprouts and is too light on the flavor. Sizzling beef tastes alright but lacks any feature that tells me to come back again. The chicken is very dry. Service is standard without anything to note. The atmosphere is also what a typical Chinese seafood restaurant felt like without any distinctive feature. Every aspect of this restaurant is like any other Chinese seafood restaurant, hence an average rating.

I began going often to Victoria’s close to 30 years ago. The food was amazing. Super fresh and flavorful every time. Always an amazing food experience. It’s been about10 years since I’ve eaten there and I have never been so grossed out in my life. Everything was disgusting. The egg foo young was flavorless. It tasted like cornstarch mixed with water. The boneless ribs were bland and the battered shrimp had tiny dried up “shrimp” with an outrages amount of old oil filled dough. There must be new owners. Please, if you value your taste buds and stomach,DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Been coming here 30 plus years when the old owner steven was here way better services now under new owner the old rude stuck up chinese man who dresses sloppy, we came to celebrate my sis bday dinner eith family. It was freezing so we parked a block away and was opening the doors for a few seconds for our elderly parents the owner came over screaming at us in chinese saying we are letting the draft in really angrily. Super rude and was pissed off, all his staff felt ashamed but said yes thats the owner thats how he is one of the waiters said. So you want us to close the door on our parents and treat elderly like a nuisance? He never apologized nor did any staff we complained to front desk the chubby asian guy with glasses just looked at us smiling not saying anything. We have been coming for decades amazing food but unfortunately we will not be coming back of his rude attitude, bad customer service. Very disappointed , never been treated so rudely at any restaurant before rest of night he just ignored us didnt say anything. Also saw one chef sitting by bare feet out just texting disgusting. You guys need to have some etiquette. I read some other bad reviews of the new owner being rude yelling at customers so this seems to be an ongoing thing. Will be taking our business to Jumbo across the street people seem to be raving about it.

Been going here for years, but recently they upgraded their systems and decor.

Staff here is friendly, but may appear menacing. They are just very direct, but mean well.

Food here is superb, got a bunch of different dishes and they were all delicious.

Victoria’s Seafood is a late night spot open until around 1 AM on most days, meaning it is a great place to grab a quick bite or dinner after a night out. It’s near BU and sees a lot of international students on the weekends or during late nights.

The service is very quick here and fast-paced, which may turn people off if they’re expecting a fine dining sort of service. It definitely helps if you speak Mandarin or Cantonese, as most of the other wait staff do not speak English or have trouble with the language.

I have ate many things off this menu, ranging from the Beef Kebabs, Lobster Sauce, Fish Maw Soup, Salt & Pepper Squid, Beef Satay Chow Foon, and much more. The prices have risen over the years, but it is still a good portion for the price. The food quality has been very good, and whenever I order take-out the food is still fresh and not soggy by the time I get it.

I would recommend this place for catering as well, as the portion size is pretty good and price is decent for larger parties. Overall a wonderful place to eat at or order takeout from.

We ordered a lot of meat chicken shrimp and everyone enjoyed. All of these are well cooked. 糯米鸡 was chicken filled with rice which was new to me. Pigeon was nice we ordered two and finished them. Fish was fresh too. The only thing matters might be that it is a little expensive.
