Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in for dinner tonight and everything was great. No complaints, fast service, food was excellent, and staff is kind and quick.
We got the meat board and the burnt ends Mac 10/10 for both.

Absolute! Best barbecue place we have ever been to! The service was great. The environment atmosphere was wonderful and the food was out of this world! The rib tips fell off the bone. The turkey flavor was incredible and the overall taste was impeccable. We will definitely be visiting here again. Highly recommend and the pricing was fantastic for what you got!!

We stumbled upon this place…a d we cant stop coming back!
If you like BBQ, this is a hidden gem, that we didnt realize has some brisket and the likes, that will be appreciated by any.
Ribs, burnt ends, burgers, mac full of glorious meats and more. Dont even THINK to not onclude the friday fish fry…which the fish is equally as good as the BBQ.
THE BURGER AND BRISKET on a bun is simply HEAVEN! I couldnt believe that my eyes were telling me a story that was about to unfold…and, Im so hapoy I chose that, to introduce us.
The rest of it had to be tested, while we all picked from one anothers plates, t9 understand that ALL of others was preoared well, while the flavor and service was uncompromised. Sometimes you dont get EVERYTHING, where places hit some things as home runs…OAK AND ASH nails it all! Each time we have been back.
Ive not had a dry or old slab of meat…which isnt always the case for 9laces that may sut on products, while not at busy times. Each time weve been thru, it wasnt a problem, for catching a different BBQ experience.
Seating was plentiful. While there are TVs to catch the games/info, while maybe having adukt beverages. Bar, tables, or booths. The sides are as good and plentiful. Each grouo weve recommended it to, or brought in, has been impressed.

Oak & Ash in Dowagiac deserves all the praise. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Wing Wednesdays are easily one of the best things happening in town—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. The fried cauliflower was a standout too: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned so well that it honestly surprised me in the best way.

My overall experience was nothing but positive. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the vibe made it feel like a place you want to come back to. Oak & Ash has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite local restaurants. Highly recommend.

First time trying this place and was not disappointed. We will definitely be back to try different dishes. I had The Leftover mac & cheese. The turkey was tender and smoked, gravy had a good flavor. My husband had the brisket burger and he said it was delicious 9/10. Our daughter had the Roadrunner and said it was really good 9/10. The waffle fries 10/10, seasoning was so good.

Pricy compared to the portion size.
The hamburger looked like beef jerky and had the texture of it, not very good
The sandwiches were very small and not what was expected compared to the price.
The burnt end loaded fries were great and filling. House made ranch would make a world of difference.
We also ordered ribs- very dry, but good flavor. Pickle chips- very bland and needs better dipping sauce.

Went here for dinner,
waitress- while talking to me was looking at my bf the entire time not me.
Ordering-
We got the loaded fries, she said it was an appetizer for two..definitely not. Had 5 small pieces of brisket on it…$15
off the bat my bf asked how big the burrito was, and the waitress said pretty big. Comes out and the burrito is the size of one from taco bell…so you want me to pay $17 for something I can get half the price somewhere else.
I ordered a burger, it was good but for the price, $17, absolutely not.

Menu is small you can’t even decide what you want. They had zero variety.

Moral of the story, unless you want bad survive and to pay over a hundred dollars for two, do not go here.

Went there last night early eve. And wow service was great, got helped right away. Got 2 drinks and waters within a minute. Thank you, I tried the chili brisket, yummy! She took our order 2 burgers with 2 sides and wow it came out lighting fast! This was my 1st time here, and wow great fast service, actually smiled and enjoyed what she does and cooks the food she said, the prices were great compared to others, and it’s now my stomping ground when I’m near or passing through. Dear owner you have a great worker that smiles, works fast with drinks and food! And give her a raise and thanks for us. Lol
I’ll do way more business with this Resturant.

went for a quick lunch with a friend on a weekday. service was great and food was incredible! it came out so fast and honestly they have unbeatable prices. definitely get the fried pickles and i loved the cheez its on the ceasar salad instead of croutons, such a unique and tasty twist. the friend pictured thought it was so good she took some other people back for dinner!

Where do I begin? First of all you can smell the sweet savory aroma a mile away. The building itself sits on the corner of downtown Dowagiac and has ample parking and space in back you can easily park and walk into one of the two entrances in the back or from Main street. I have traveled well and this is life changing BBQ. The quality of meat and the way it is smoked with Chef Andrew signature wood blend, no pellets here this is the real deal fall off the bone ribs and brisket. Hands down best BBQ ever had and the Atmosphere and beauty of the building is amazing. Huge open spaces, beautiful colors and very clean. It is almost too good to be true but it’s not its Oak & Ash. Date night family night, sunday lunch perfect spot for good quality food you can not find anywhere else.
