food was good and our server was really nice. got the cocktail of the month, some kind of sour, and I thought it was great. I got the prime rib sandwich and it was better than many I’ve had and I’ve had many. would visit again!

Awesome food great service!
We started with an old fashioned flight- smoked traditional, blackberry brandy and cranberry (notes of choc on this one). We had their giant pretzel, it was huge; swear it was like 2 lbs! It came with a delicious white cheese sauce. I had the French onion NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and house salad with jalapeño ranch dressing- so good! Hubby had the blackberry bourbon pork ribeye with loaded potato soup. Both amazing! We couldn’t even finish them but did finish up with a flight of mudslides; traditional, caramel pumpkin, and chunky monkey. We did have them put their snore cheesecake in a to go for next day dessert; of course it was taste tested when we got home and promises to be as great as the rest of the meal.
Our server was amazing, though I don’t recall her name, very friendly and attentive.
In summary: highly recommend.

This restaurant is in an old bank, so the decor and the vibe is great. A beautiful tiled floor and wooden bar adds to the aesthetic. They have an extensive drink and food menu and I went with the French dip, which was delicious. The service was fantastic and so was my glass of wine. Great find!

An Unforgettable Meal in the Old German Bank!
We visited The Vault last Friday night with a group of friends and had a truly wonderful time. The atmosphere is absolutely divine—there is simply nothing like the experience of dining inside the historic Old German Bank!
As for the food, I cannot recommend the Blackberry Bourbon Glazed Pork Ribeyes enough. They were absolutely amazing. In fact, the glaze was the total show-stopper of the meal; my only regret is that I didn’t have a side of bread to soak up every last drop of it!
The rest of our group was just as impressed. The Bang Bang Salmon Bowl and the Prime Rib French Dip were exquisite, and everyone left completely satisfied with their choice. To top it all off, our server was fantastic and had a great sense of humor, which kept the mood fun and light all evening.
Considering the reasonable prices and the unique setting, I would highly recommend The Vault for your next outing. We will definitely be back!

We came here after college graduation on May 3rd and the place as packed! Our server was very attentive and all of the food was cooked to the right temp and the tiramisu was very good. The filet was only 34 very reasonable priced.

So sad they got rid of a lot of their old menu items when they switched Kitchen Managers a couple years ago. Used to be a great place to eat but has dropped in quality. Their drinks are great, but their food is somewhere in the average to slightly below average range. If the prices were lower it would be worth it. Tough to want to go there with other great options Downtown

The Vault used to be my husband and I’s go to date night place. Everyone that came into town I’d say “You gotta go to The Vault.” NOT ANYMORE. Whatever they’ve done to it in the past months needs to stop. No more bread with your pasta, no more Cesar salad, the cajun pasta has different noodles and it was gross (usually my go to) and the specials are TINNY. My friend got the special and it was like a cereal bowl.
This is my cry for management to get their acts together because whatever you’re doing isn’t work and I won’t be coming back and telling everyone not to go anymore until something has changed. I want my go-to date night place back.

The restaurant is in an old bank which still has the old vault in it. If you plan to go for dinner, it would be a good idea to make a reservation. It was very busy when we arrived at 6:30 pm we didn’t have to wait. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Jim ordered The Beast. It is a 1/4 bison, wagyu beef, wild boar, and elk with a side order of French fries. I ordered the Cajun Pasta. It was very tasty with just enough heat to enjoy. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is the parking. The best thing to do is to figure out parking beforehand.

Tryed out the Vault tonight nice restaurant in downtown Dubuque district. The staff was great and the food was good. A must try if your in the area. We got the crabstuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. The lemon chicken and lobster both cooked very well. Definitely would come back if I am in the area!
