Reviews
When you’re wondering what to eat for lunch that’s both comforting and appetite-opening , a hot bowl of soup or soup noodles is always the answer. This time we visited their Rowland Heights location, and the moment you walk in, it feels really comfortable. The space is clean and bright, seating is spacious, and the lighting is soft—it’s the kind of place where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy your meal.
This brand has over 140 locations in Korea , and they’re known for their rich yet not greasy beef broth. After finishing a bowl, you genuinely feel warmed from the inside out. Even when you order just a bowl of noodles, they still serve three side dishes, which is such a thoughtful touch
What we ordered
Beef Brisket Seolleongtang with Glass Noodles
The broth is light yet deeply beefy. The glass noodles soak up the soup beautifully, making each bite super comforting
Seafood Premium Yukgaejang with Knife-Cut Noodles (Xiaoqing’s 5-star favorite )
The spice level is very Korean—not harsh or overwhelming. It’s a combination of rich beef broth, chili heat, and seafood flavor, paired with freshly cooked knife-cut noodles. I feel completely satisfied every single time I finish a bowl—can’t help but love it ❤️
Handmade Steamed Dumplings (Pork / Spicy Baby Octopus )
We tried both flavors. Thin wrappers, generous fillings, best enjoyed hot. The octopus version is mildly spicy and quite unique—you don’t see it very often elsewhere.
Premium Bossam (Small Portion)
Slow-braised in a traditional Korean herbal broth, the pork is tender, juicy, and never dry (if you’ve had dry bossam before, you’ll know how good this one is ). Wrapped with fresh greens and side dishes, it’s refreshing with great layers of texture and flavor.
Overall, the meal really delivers that warm, home-style Korean comfort food feeling . Their braised ribs and bossam are also very reasonably priced, with generous portions and quality ingredients.
If you’re in Rowland Heights and craving a properly simmered Korean hot soup, this place definitely deserves a spot on your list ✨
We ordered the Beef Short Rib Stew, and the portion size was honestly impressive. One big pot easily feeds 3–4 people. The ribs were tender and came right off the bone, and the veggies and noodles soaked up all the flavor as we kept eating. It’s the kind of dish that just gets better the longer it sits.
Big plus for the service too — the staff came over to help cut and debone the ribs for us, which made everything way easier. Small thing, but definitely appreciated.
We also tried the Ox Leg Bone Soup with blood sausage. Even though it’s a clear broth, it still had a lot of depth and felt really comforting. Perfect for a cooler day. The handmade dumplings were simple but good — thin skin, decent filling, and they went great with the soup.
Price-wise, I think this place is very reasonable for what you get. A lot of Korean stew spots can get pricey for groups, but here the portions and quality make it feel worth it.
Not a flashy, over-the-top place — just good food, good portions, and a place I’d actually come back to. And honestly, that short rib stew alone is enough of a reason to return.
The Tteokgalbi (collab with a Michelin-starred chef) is a must—juicy, charred beef patty that’s so satisfying. The Budae Jjigae was rich and cheesy, with ramen that soaked up all the amazing broth. The dumpling + soondae combo was also great, especially the kimchi dumplings.
For four people, it was about $100 per person, and we were stuffed. This isn’t a flashy Instagram spot—it’s the kind of warm, delicious Korean food you’ll crave again and again. Highly recommend!
Unlimited side dishes
A Korean staple, you get 5 complimentary side dishes when you walk in. They’re refreshing and cut through the richness, and you can get free refills.
Army Stew
When it arrives, the pot is packed with ingredients—it’s incredibly impressive! Spam, soft tofu, and cheese rice cakes are all soaked in a sweet and spicy broth. The Shin Ramyeon added at the end is coated in melted cheese, and one bite is simply divine.
General’s Beef Short Rib Stew
Meat lovers, don’t miss this! The thick-cut beef short ribs are stewed until tender and flavorful, with pumpkin, carrots, and mushrooms absorbing the rich meaty essence. The glass noodles are chewy and smooth, and it comes with a portion of purple rice that you can mix with the stew sauce to devour two big bowls. The portions are huge, enough for 2–3 people to share.
Korean Lettuce Wraps with Pork Belly
The glistening, marinated pork belly is layered generously, carrying a subtle herbal aroma. The meat is so tender it falls off the bone. Serve it with lettuce, garlic slices, and Korean gochujang for wrapping. It’s the perfect way to cut the richness and is incredibly satisfying.
This restaurant is definitely on my list of hidden gem Korean spots in Rowland Heights!
The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, the prices are great, and parking is convenient. No need to make a long trip to K-town!
Their signature Beef Soup (YukGaejang) is a must-try. It comes with a variety of side dishes and your choice of white or purple rice. I went with the classic Korean spicy beef soup, and it did not disappoint — the broth is rich and deeply flavored from hours of slow simmering, packed with tender beef and glass noodles. Tasted just like the one I had in Korea!
The menu is quite extensive. Besides the beef soup, they offer braised short ribs, bossam, cold noodles, dumplings, and various stews. We also ordered the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Rib w/ flat glass noodles and the portion was HUGE. Served bubbling hot in the pot, it felt so comforting. The staff kindly helped cut the ribs and pumpkin into smaller pieces. Compared to Sunnongdan, the meat here was more tender and the price was even more reasonable. The stew also comes loaded with carrots, rice cakes, pumpkin, glass noodles — all soaked in that savory-sweet sauce. We couldn’t finish it and ended up taking a lot home.
Great deal alert: Throughout this month, the Rowland Heights location is running weekday dine-in specials that are seriously worth checking out. Highly recommend if you’re craving hearty, authentic Korean stews!
✨ Braised Beef Short Rib Hot Pot:
Rich, flavorful, not greasy, and the beef is incredibly tender. The glass noodles soak up the broth perfectly. Honestly tastes better than Sunnongdan and at a better price.
✨ Soft Tofu & Beef Soup:
Classic Korean comfort — moderately spicy, slow-cooked, and very warming.
✨ Service:
Staff were amazing with my toddler. They picked different lollipop flavors for him and even brought a small ice cream to help him settle down. Truly kid-friendly!
Portions are huge, value is great, and the broth is outstanding.
I’d totally drive from Irvine again just to eat here.
The seafood hot pot had a rich, spicy broth and came with so many seafood — super comforting. The baby octopus mandu had a great chewy texture and that sweet-spicy flavor that makes it really addictive. And the bossam came in a big portion, tender, and cooked with a lot of flavor.
Definitely a place I’d come back to.
> Tried the Beef Intestine Yuk Gae Jang this time. The intestines were clean with no smell and had a nice chewy texture. Broth was rich.
> The Galbi Patty was a surprise. Very juicy and had a good bounce to it. Sweet and savory flavor was spot on.
> Bossam and BBQ Beef were consistent as always. The beef was tender and the glass noodles underneath soaked up all the sauce. Reliable spot for a solid meal.
