Lots of free parking.
Food came reasonably quick only 30 mins considering we ordered quite a lot.
Nice presentation – that’s for sure.
The Food: Spring rolls, potatoes, French fries, onion rings, beef ribs and sausages were nice.
Fried chicken breast and other meat was dry. Barramundi was a bit undercooked and very salty skin, jalapeno nice hot and tangy but salty. Sauce for garlic prawns tasted like packaged sauce. Food were not warm enough except for Spring Rolls.
The Service: Only 1 Senior Lady waitress was smiling. The two young female waitresses (one with glasses, one no glasses) were not smiling at all. Especially the one without glasses and wearing lots of earrings, from the moment we stand at the counter (she came late – few people already seated before us so we were not the first to arrive), look like she doesn’t want to be there at all. She took our orders without smiling too – not friendly at all. Made us feel like we eat for free.
It was our first time there, normally we go to The Smokehouse at The Doylo, Doyalson.
Food was excellent and probably the best of the restaurants within the Wests clubs. The true grit platter is a fantastic choice, and could be comfortably shared with 3-4 people (especially if you add some spring rolls and Mac and cheese). The plant based popcorn chicken was surprisingly good too.
Well worth a visit, and I will certainly be coming back again.
The meals arrived very quickly and were pretty big. We ordered the 18oz pork spare ribs (for him) which came with chips & slaw, the Southern Fried chicken burger for me, which came with chips. We had ordered a mac’n’cheese on the side which was probably enough for 4 people. It was all delicious & we bought home the leftover chips & mac’n’cheese.
Would probably visit there again.
I would suggest maybe they have a smaller size Mac’n’cheese for when there are 2 people.
We ordered our meals and they started to come out with in 15 mins. Hubby and son in law order ribs and steak combo and 16 oz steak. Myself ordered a vegatarian dish with pumpkin. Oh boy was it full of oil. I could teach swimming lessons to the vegies in the bowel. The guys enjoyed their meals but also quiet oily. My daughter had a mixed dish she enjoyed it but said a little oily. The atmoshere was good . Staff were great it wasnt overly busy. I give it a 3 out of 5. But nit for the food
Ribs, salad & chips were good but not awesome. The medium rib eye was so chewy it was sent back. I had 3 goes from different parts & the steak know had difficulty cutting any of it.
Waitress & the checkout lady only said sorry. No offer of substitute or price reduction. Staff training is more the reason for the low rating rather than the tough steak.
