Big Bad
Friend took me here for my very first time. The establishment was very clean and nicely setup tables. The food was delicious and the folks running it were very nice and friendly, I highly recommend stopping in here and grab a sandwich they have an Italian restaurant next door….homemade breads salads.

I want to start by saying that the burgers here truly are very very good. The experience with the staff is dependent on just who you have to interact with.

I gave three stars. I have been here 4 times in the last 6 weeks, and not one single time have they got the order right. I order a burger with mayo, mustard, pickle, and onion. They never put the mustard on. My wife orders the standard burger. The first time she ordered it, it had barely any doubler sauce on so she had to ask for more. The next time we went in she just order it with more and didn’t get it. And then the last time she ordered it, she just asked for it on the side, which they forgot, and the burger had very little sauce on it. So she asked the server if she could have the cup of sauce she had asked for, and the server said she’d go get it. After 5 minutes passed on this non-busy day, I had to walk up to the kitchen staff and ask for it so my wife could add it to her burger before it got cold, because the waitress never brought it back out. She was up at the register talking to other staff members tho for that duration.

I had to walk up to the soda machine to grab some mustard packets, just like every other time as well.

The burgers really are very good. And the prices aren’t bad for them either. But, I would highly recommend that when you visit this place, you take a few dollars in cash with you. Then when you pay, you can select a 0 dollar tip up front, and when you’re done, if the food came out right and the servers brought out stuff in a timely manner, then if you choose you can put a couple bucks in the tip jar… But I would definitely not tip before you experienced the service.

The burgers are worth every penny of the charged price and then some.

I could eat elroys everyday! The Greek Goddess salad is my go to. It is delicious. There hasn’t been a single thing I’ve gotten here that was not good. Even better is the prices! Very reasonable!

First let me say we love your pizza. However our experience today was a total diaster. When an hour had passed and our food was not here i cslled. The young lady was very nice, as well as the manager. Our food had been delivered but not to our house. Who knows where it is. She told me they would remske it and we would have it in 25 minutes. 40 minutes later still no food. Finally almost 2 hours after i had ordered it. When i pointed this out to the delivery BOY he simply said my bad. That us not a respectful response and certainly is not an apology. When i showed him the 4 inch house numbers on our house he shrugged and walked away.
Finally we can eat. My husbands sandwhich is on the wrong bun. My sandwhich has a single pickle and one tiny bit of lettuce. My spinach salad was just spinach. I finally found 2 or 3 craisans a minut amount of feta and no apple. For 42 dollars i shouldnt have to doctor up my food to make it edible. I am sending photos i am not happy at all.

I’m often very skeptical of places that try to do too much or places that have too large a menu. When I saw that this place had pizza and was also hailing itself as a deli I was a bit concerned. I ended up pleasantly surprised. The deli side is exactly as it should be; generous portions of good quality meats in classic deli sandwiches for prices that you would expect from a deli (not a bistro that’s trying to serve deli foods at inflated prices). I got three full sandwiches, a pizza and cheese bread for $40. The pizza side of things is actually surprisingly good too. Is it the best pizza I’ve ever had? no, but did it exceed my expectations for pizza at a deli absolutely. This place is doing the amount of menu items that they need to survive while still not trying things they can’t pull off. You end up with is a very solid deli experience that has the bonus of making decent pizza. At some point I suppose I became somewhat of a takeout food pessimist and have begun to expect places to over promise and under deliver. This was a nice exception and delivered exactly what it promised for a price point that was very reasonable. I will certainly use this as one of my go-to “I’m hungry and I don’t know what I want” options in Fremont.

Elroy’s Deli offer’s so much on their menu. Really is a place that has something for everyone. I ordered a Greek Goddess Salad and a chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I chose a half pound, and it was more than I thought it’d be. The cheesecake is heavenly, seriously so good. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, plenty of seating room, and it was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful, really took the time to share their personal favorites. They also have shelves set up with a nice selection of groceries and wine. Most things are not available in a regular grocery store. I’m trying the pasta next time.

So far I’ve only had the personalized pizza as well as the “Doubler” burger. The pizza itself was phenomenal, especially as a build your own pizza. Lazerik, the man who cooked my burger today, did an absolutely amazing job. The beef was smash cooked against onions in just the right way that the juices weren’t pushed out and the burger remained juicy. The cooks, Niles and Susan were very helpful on deliberating what to order as well as knowledgeable on answering the flavor profile expected for the signature house burger sauce. The sauce is a mayo base with ketchup as well as other ingredients. If I had any criticisms towards the burger it would be my own preference of more onions but that in no way knocks down the actual quality as in it’s normal arrangement the ingredients are very well balanced. The higher chef, Eric brought out the burger and was very polite and sweet. The menu and signage also uses comic sans which is a bonus atmosphere factor for me personally. The menu is easy to read, the hardest part is picking something off of it.

I used to eat at Elroy’s a ton and my go to sandwiches were the half Italian and the Cuban. Will, the half Italian is no longer available and the whole is way more meat than should be on a sandwich, and the Cuban used to have a pulled pork on it as will but the last couple times I got it, it was just ham so I had stopped going. Bought my wife they’re $6 doubler burger and was back less than a week later to get her another and try it myself. If you like deli sandwiches overloaded with meat, I just prefer a different meat to bread ratio, or a juicy double cheeseburger this place will hit the spot for you.
