SO GOOD! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our server, Lacey, couldn’t have been kinder to us and our two littles! Do not go there without trying that chicken fried chicken!

We just ate at Joe’s for the first time. Being Friday we ordered the Fried Catfish special. My friends you won’t find a better meal. Three healthy slices of catfish, a heaping mount of French fries, coleslaw, all the fixings and a generous serving of chocolate brownie. For only twenty-three bucks for my wife and I. By far the best lunch I’ve had in years. The service was excellent and friendly. This place has it right. To all the Thousand Trails visitors in Columbus, make the drive to Fayetteville you won’t be sorry.

If I could give Joe’s Place more than 5 stars I would. I’ve never felt more welcome in a restaurant then I felt today at Joe’s Place. It all started with our server Jaci. Wow unbelievable service. I felt like I’ve known Jaci for years. Jaci was unbelievable. The manager Jennifer came and sat down at the table and introduced herself. Again I felt like I’ve known Jennifer for years. This place is worth your drive if you are coming from Houston or Austin. The prices are really reasonable. Today I discovered a place I know for sure that I will come to. Thank you Jaci and Jennifer for making our experience very very memorable. I seriously feel like I’m part of the Joe’s Place family. Oh one more thing. The banana pudding is AMAZING!!

Loved the interior and Jessica (we remember her from Orsak’s) was great! We both had hamburger steak but with different toppings. I had the Vaquero which was queso Blanco and pico de gallo served with sliced avocado. It was enormous (12oz) and I could only eat half. The puppies got the rest (minus the cheese & pico) and loved every bit. Hubs got the Cowboy platter with brown gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. Said he really enjoyed everything. He chose to eat his entire steak and forego most of the mashed potatoes. The rolls were a bit overdone but again, the pups thought they were great. I was disappointed with the chocolate cake. It seemed homemade which is great but was dry and I didn’t think the icing was tasty either. We’ll just have to try some other dessert next time because we’ll definitely be back!

Great food and people. Staff is nice and helpful. Our 14 year old daughter asked to borrow money to tip extra. Try the onion rings, fish, chicken fried steak, fried shrimp, and the jalapeño bun for the burgers. Live band was great.

Loved this place. Best chicken fried steak I’ve had in Texas. Pro tip: brown gravy on the taters white gravy on the steak. I don’t know if the rolls were scratch made but loved the yeasty sweet moistness. Perfect for sopping up what you couldn’t get with your fork. Very cool historic building that was a bit rough around the edges but that’s a plus in my book. Plenty of cool neon signs. I’ll be back!

Super friendly service and tasty food. The burger was cooked perfectly. The queso was delicious, and the beer was cold.

Service and food is always top tier!
They had a candle burning that was sooo strong it gave me a headache and burned my eyes. Couldn’t enjoy my meal. The waitress said she would blow it out but didn’t, just moved it a few inches from where it was, so I ate a small portion of my meal and had to leave. Couldn’t smell the delicious food but all the toxic chemicals coming from the candle. Why do restaurants burn candles that over power the smell of the place? Are they trying to cover up something they don’t want us to smell? Ruined my appetite and made me sick! Not worth it for people who are sensitive to toxic chemicals….

UPDATE Sept 17, 2023: Our party of three went to Joe’s Place for brunch on a Sunday around 11:00am. Each of us ordered the three egg omelette with our choice of 3 add-ins. I had to try a pancake. We enjoyed ourselves.

The service was great and everyone was so friendly. They kept our coffee cups filled!

Here’s a nice mom and pop shop in small town Texas worth the visit. Fayetteville, TX is nestled in a rural area between Houston and Austin near La Grange, TX .

While we just had a cup of coffee on this visit, we have eaten here several times. My husband’s class reunion will be hosted here.

This is not a fancy upscale place. You will find friendly service and good food in an old historic building. Be sure to drive or walk through the town to see the sweet cottages and businesses.

Our server was absolutely fantastic, the food quality was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. Our server managed to handle 12 tables continuously and none of our drinks were empty and we ordered multiple rounds. While taking multiple orders she managed to memorize our order and ensure food came out correctly. If you told me she even cooked it I would believe you! Absolutely outstanding job best server I have ever had considering the volume.
