Small and quiet. I have been a few time and I have no complaints. Best sushi in Manhattan. 100 per person for how much u get its a steal. Staff is amazing and remembered my name the first time. So homey and elegant. Great sushi. Waygu and eel is the best but thats my favorites

First time doing Omakase and it was amazing! The chef, B, and Tony were really nice and great to talk to. The place has a really cool vibe with a great sake selection as well as other specialty cocktails. The omakase menu was fantastic as well and I left feeling very satisfied! Overall would really recommend anyone try it. There’s also a speakeasy in the back where they’ll have a dj and serve drinks pretty soon. Would definitely go back on my next visit!

Great little omakase for a GREAT price. AYCD sake and a couple of cocktails too. Highlights for me were the Ozeki Nigori, Chinatown Sour, hamachi Yellowtale and eel—though everything was really nice. Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends.

This was my first time at Shinsen and I went for their Omaxkase experience, everything was delicious – great variety in terms of nigiri and very quick service, also enjoyed the unlimited beer and sake (will absolutely be back)!

Came across this place. Looking for Noko. Since got seated, we thought we gave it a try, but ended up regretting it. Food is not good and definitely not fresh. Ambience is very dark, can barely see anything. Service is ok. We ordered the sashimi platter and the fish was dark, fishy and old. The curry katsu was dry, the curry sauce tasted ok but ordinary. Drinks were ok. I had the lychee martini, even though the portion was teeny tiny for $10 happy hour, it tasted ok but not too much alcohol. There’s not good japanese/sushi restaurant in chinatown. Go to St. Marks.

Sophisticated, yet chill atmosphere…our sushi was absolutely excellent and extremely fresh ingredients. Our cocktails were both mixed to perfection, and the service was hands-down excellent. They offer outdoor seating as well. The only thing I would change is to add some flat screen TVs and possibly live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Definitely will be returning here on out next visit, as it’s adjacent to our Hyatt Hotel and smack in Chinatown.

We had such an amazing experience here! The food and drinks are wonderful and you can’t beat the fun energy- especially if it’s karaoke night. Highly recommend for anything from a date night to a night out with friends!

I had the OMAXKASE and now I know why they put MAX in the name. I ate so much fresh amazing sushi. Aside from being the best deal in The City, it was really flavorful. On top of that, the sake qty for AYCD is outstanding. This is a must-visit when in NYC!
