We’ve been ordering from these lovely people for years now and every time is just divine. Freshest and best sushi in the area. We love the convenience of picking up our food and enjoying it wherever we want! Whatever you order will be amazing. My favorite is the Rainbow Roll and Spicy Scallop roll. Pad thai and all of the curries are scrumptious as well! Highly, highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a hidden treasure in Belleville, Sushi Thai is it. This quaint little hole-in-the-wall spot may not have dine-in options, but trust me — the food more than makes up for it. Offering a diverse mix of both sushi and traditional Asian fare, Sushi Thai delivers flavors that rival even high-end establishments. Whether you’re in the mood for expertly prepared sushi or a hearty stir-fry, the menu has something for everyone.
We recently stopped by and were blown away by the Pineapple Fried Rice. Generous chunks of sweet, juicy pineapple were perfectly balanced by the savory notes of stir-fried onions, peppers, and our protein of choice. The rice itself was cooked to perfection — light and fluffy without being greasy or mushy. The seasoning was spot on, with just a touch of heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming the palate.
The sushi was equally impressive. We tried the Green Dragon Roll and the Maki Combo, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Green Dragon Roll had the perfect balance of creamy avocado, tender eel, and a drizzle of eel sauce that tied everything together. The Maki Combo was a great way to sample a variety of rolls, each one crafted with precision and bursting with flavor.
Sushi Thai might be small, but it delivers big on taste and quality at an extremely fair price. If you’ve lived in Belleville your whole life and haven’t yet discovered this spot, don’t wait any longer. The combination of fresh ingredients, skillful preparation, and friendly service makes Sushi Thai a true local gem. Highly recommend!

I wish I would’ve known it was takeout only, but the quality was perfection, and priced very reasonably. For such a low price, the attention to detail and quality of such simple items is impressive. I had a double salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and miso soup. I thought about those fresh flavors the rest of the day. I particularly liked that the spicy tuna was a normal tuna roll with spicy mayo, rather than chopped tuna as I’ve seen at many other places.

Sushi Thai by Samran is a diamond in downtown Belleville. My husband and I have grown to love this food establishment. The food is always fresh and tasty. The management is friendly and hospitable. And we are grateful for their affordable prices. Be it sushi, pad Thai, curry… everything has been delicious every time.

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and I’ve lived in Japan for over 5 years. I am happy to say that this place made us nostalgic for Japan! It’s the perfect little hole in the wall place for delicious sushi made the way it was meant to be! The prices are great, the food AMAZING and both the Jasmin and Thai tea were wonderful. The employees were so friendly and I’m looking forward to making this a regular restaurant in our new neighbourhood! Thank you for existing for this traveling couple longing for great sushi far from home!

Samran is a locally-owned sushi restaurant just north of the Belleville fountain. With delicious and poignant flavors, peak presentation, and friendly owners; this is a neighborhood-local favorite.
We shared 5 rolls between two of us and had about a roll’s worth of leftovers- New York, red dragon, crunchy spicy tuna (which was $1 cheaper than the regular spicy tuna, a nice surprise at only $4.95 with jam-packed flavor), fried Philadelphia (with a unique way of frying it- my date said it was the best way he’d ever tried it cooked), and an ebi mango (the freshest mango I’ve had all season, it was refreshing).
I’ve experienced in the past from another sushi restaurant that the sushi tastes best when dining in compared to taking out or delivery. Though I haven’t dined in here, the sushi is spectacular when taken out. It makes me wonder what it tastes like when dining in.
I’m sad that my first visit was just last fall (2022) and I missed the opportunity to dine in. Pictures of the interior look super cute and make me feel nostalgic. Hoping that they reopen.

I called in my order, and it was ready when I showed up. The service was friendly and quick, the sushi was delicious, and the prices are competitive. 4 rolls here cost less than 3 rolls somewhere else. I visited on 9/27/25.

This is a gem of a place. It’s kind of weird that it’s only take out, and the restaurant seems like a random hole in a building, but the food more than makes up for it.
Also I absolutely love sushi, and I love how cheap this place is. I often just buy a thai dish, and a small order of sushi to eat on the side.
