Service was alright and nothing terrible, however there was a noted delay on receiving drinks and placing our order after our appetizers. The food was solid and tasty on the whole. We ordered Brussel sprouts, meatballs, and bread for appetizers. All were delicious. Our entrees included the duck ragu and the smash burger. These dishes were good by all means, but not spectacular. I would rate these around 8/10. Overall a decent dining experience and left feeling full and content. Prices and portion sizes seemed reasonable and matched nicely as well. Overall, a 7.8/10.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. Was able to get a table, since a reservation happened to cancel just before our arrival. Had the lamb meatballs, smoked pork chop, & the salmon special (was told that there wasn’t an actual name for this dish?). We really enjoyed the lamb and my husband liked his salmon. The chop was okay, though a little drier than I expected a bone-in chop to be. Service was fine & the person who seated us also served as our waiter, who was pretty personable & chatty. I would likely return & try something else.

Small town, BIG FLAVOR!! It is an absolutely beautiful gem with phenomenal food. For starters, the Brussels were amazing with great texture and flavor. The canneloni was among the best I’ve ever had with a well-balanced flavor profile. Whether you live in the area or just passing through, plan to stop and enjoy a beautiful meal with friendly and knowledgeable service.

Outstanding service. We had a party of 20 divided into tables of 10. I have never experienced such complete attentive service for a party that big. Astounding.

Absolutely lovely experience! We recently moved back to Michigan and live within DeWitt area. This is by far the best restaurant we tried in Michigan so far. Food was delicious and we couldn’t have enough of it. We had some shrimp meatballs (best ever!), garlic bread (absolutely yum), ribeye (amazing balance of meat and fat) and risotto verde (with lots of yummy veggies). Dessert was delicious as well!
Wine selection is great, so if wine is your passion this is the place for you!
Looking forward for our next dinner here 5*

I was super excited to try this cute little shop out but I was pretty disappointed with the flavors. It wasn’t horrible but it was definitely interesting flavors. We got a salad that had bleu cheese, pears, pecans it was a little overwhelming and tasted basically like lemon and bleu cheese. We had also gotten this shrimp toast and it was a little too greasy and nothing special in my opinion. The lamb with hummus was actually pretty good. And the toast was good. We didn’t get a drink other than water. I wished I had asked what to get instead of appetizers. But the place was overall super cute and cozy and moody. I just had wished I would have liked the food a little bit more. We left still feeling hungry because we didn’t even eat our food other than the bread and hummus.

It was a nice night out. If it gets busy, it can get loud. Still a fun and nice atmosphere for dinner. The food is delicious!!! I love the changing menus, there is always something new to try. You cannot go wrong!!! Also, they are always willing to help pair a nice drink with your meal. Being gluten free, I have never had an issue with getting sick.

Yesterday evening was my first time dining at this restaurant – two friends and I met there for a much-deserved night out. We made and held our early evening reservation. My first impression was the dinner menu looked intentional, however the drink menu was overwhelmingly robust. When we asked our server, who was both kind and attentive, for some suggestions based on preferences… it seemed like she felt a bit timid and even inexperienced in that area or question. Moving on to our meal, all of the dishes were well-prepared with excellent flavors and delivered both timely and with warmth. That shared, when we received our appetizers, a comment was made by a different staff member (assuming a floor manager) to “Please move menus to the side as to not get them dirty.” While I can understand the expense of daily printing, it seems misplaced to shift that in the direction of the guest, as well as assume we are “messy” with our table manners. Our server was attentive throughout the meal. When we had finished our entrees, and decided to order one last round of beverages (only being our second of the evening), she informed us we would have to wrap up in 15 minutes as there was another reservation that would need our table.
Understandable, however, typically and traditionally, this information is communicated at the beginning of the meal, to set expectations then versus placing them rather abruptly. We did take time to order our drinks and entrees; we three had not been out together in a long while. However there was not a time standard written on the website/as part of our reservation or discussed prior to the sudden need for us to wrap up in 15 minutes. As we enjoyed our second/last round, she inquired if she could split our bill between the three of us after having printed it off — again, a bit odd of a request as we didn’t have a shared bottle of wine, our entrees and beverages were at different price points… and traditionally this question is asked prior to printing, leaving the preference to the guests… or if there is a policy of no splitting the bill, communicating that at the beginning in addition to the time allotted per table turn. When we did receive our split bill, the appetizers were not on correct bills; may not be an issue when the guests are good friends (which we three are), however it could be if dynamics are different among other/future guests.
We were also hurried along by a different staff member, while paying our bill, that the table was needed and our time had concluded. Had we gotten dessert… which we were asked if we would like to order… would we have had time to eat it?
As we hurried out, and noticed no overflow guests waiting in any spaces. We three would have understood, and also appreciated this being communicated at the beginning and in a much less dismissing manner. It left a sour taste in our overall experience that was otherwise met with a rather tasty food menu.
I should lastly mention that the wine by the glass I had ordered was sold out, and while I did enjoy my suggested replacement, on my bill I was charged for the initial order for my first (of two) glasses. Typically I would have inquired if that adjustment could be made (mistakes happen, although servers should make it a point to go over final details of each bill before dispersing them) however, we were being hurried from our table while signing our bills.

I’m uncertain if I would return or recommend, though I deeply want to see local spaces that are offering more seasonally-driven menus thrive in this area… there’s room for a lot of improvement with the finesse of service that is leading the meal and overall experience. I’d highly suggest the staff read through Setting the Table and adopt that as the standard when it comes to hospitality and creating a lasting impression.

Thank you, chef/s, for the meal. That element, it hit all the anticipated marks.

We’ve been here multiple times, with mostly good experiences. However, this evening came up short. I made a reservation for me and my husband, hoping to have a quiet, delicious dinner. We were seated at the first table inside the door, with parties on either side, and traffic in and out as disruption. OK. I ordered the Wagu smash burger and asked if they could put an egg on the sandwich. After checking, the server told me NO, they could not, because they didn’t know how much “extra” to charge me, and they were afraid to text the owner and ask him. So they refused. Having appetizers, entrees, and wine wasn’t enough – they couldn’t just comp me an egg. Extremely disappointed and probably won’t go back.

This is just the place we were looking for. The brussel sprout appetizer, very tasty. Amazing wine selection. Had a few pasta dishes, so good. After traveling Italy, very impressed with the flavors presented. But the service, was the best part. Made our night! Will be back soon
