While tucked away in an unassuming location, Van’s is my fav place to get sushi in suburb Chicago. It’s always fresh, at a good price point for what you receive, and they have an excellent selection. The service is friendly and they’ll help you out if you don’t see what you want in their case.

5/5: Great food for great prices

My initial thought when I came in here was a little hesitant because the place looked so small, both in size and selection. But once I saw the actual display, I was blown away be the beautiful color and quality! I can tell just from the sight of all the to go, they were generous and the food was going to be good.

This place was definitely one of those places where you eat with your eyes first.
The food itself was not a let down. I feel satisfied and yet not overburdened. They were generous with all the slices, and went easy they on the rice portion. Every one portion just seemed to work so well.

These are by far my favorite To Go Nigiri sushi I ever had.

I’ll definitely stop by more often for lunches~

Pretty nice and cozy place. You may order to go or sit inside (couple tables available). They make tasty sushi with big amount of fish part inside and less rice. The only request is to make more difference kind of sushi with eel. The prices are also attractive there. They always nice and welcoming.

Van’s Sushi is no longer a good deal, unfortunately. We used to order carry out here all the time in the first few years they opened because they were cheap and convenient even though their raw fish is ok, and the sushi rice has a bit more vinegar than it should. The biggest reason we eat here less is their prices no longer justify their quality. Their value rolls are more expensive but also smaller, they killed their points reward system, and now there is a mandatory 3.99% service fee for credit card purchases. Not great for their business’s concept based on convenience. They have become more expensive than better tasting sushi restaurants in the Lincolnshire/VH/BG area. For better tasting sushi for less $, I go to Sushi Grove in Buffalo Grove now. And for the best raw fish in the area, I would go to Blufish. Either way, I’m sad to not go to Van’s anymore.

I dont know where to begin. I have had sushi everywhere including Nobu and other famous places…….Vans is amazing top tier. If they had an all you can eat that would be even better. But come spend your money great ratio of fish and rice. I will be a lifelong customer

The freshest sushi I’ve had in this suburban area. No frills, no extra costs, just fresh sushi, sashimi and poke bowls. Self-serve, freshly made, special requests accepted. Enjoyed the sushi very much. Like I said, fresh, tasty authentic, zero complaints. I live south of this area but come up for extracurricular activities for my daughter and every time I come through I check to see if Vans is open. Top tier sushi at a no frill value price. Don’t be surprised if you walk out of there. Spending $60 $75. Not because you didn’t mean to spend that much, but because it’s hard to decide and you just want to eat everything you see ready to go! Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Very welcoming hole in the wall spot that deserves much more recognition! Food was extremely fresh and staff extremely friendly. They catered to my girlfriend’s avocado allergy! 10/10

I ordered from this location for the first time today. The service was prompt and friendly, and the sushi was fresh and very flavorful. I will definitely be back! Please put up more signage so we can see the restaurant more easily from the street. The GPS doesn’t get you there in a straightforward manner.

Sushi is very good, prices are unbeatable and the service is phenomenal. They’re kind and genuine…something I rarely see these days.

My boys and I love sushi and it’s the best place for a quick sushi night!!

Our favorites are the salmon cado, tuna cado, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura.
