The Main Event is one of the best places for casual food and drinks in Burlington, hands-down. I’ve been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. The food, service, and atmosphere can’t be beat. Alongside regular menu options, there are some more “unusual” offerings including the peanut butter burger and olive burger. I’m pretty picky about cheese curds and theirs are some of my favorites; they’re full of cheese and flavor. Service is always good too, even on busier nights. The bar itself is pretty cozy and never gets too loud either. If you’re looking for somewhere to go in Burlington, you won’t regret going to The Main Event.

“ THAT BURGER WAS FIRE”
killer flavors in this meat. Cooked perfectly. Medium well is what I like. The bun was very tasty, definitely fresh bread. Probably some of the best bacon I have had on a burger, Need to step up the fry game tho. With a burger like that you need some fresh hand cut fries.. just my opinion. At first when I got there I was not sure if it was table service, but I seen the staff going to the other tables so I was not sure. Took about 15 minutes before someone came over. But when she did, she was very nice and happy to recommend good food. The service continued to get better. The chef brought out the food and checked back after. I “ highly “ recommend getting a burger here. I’m sure the rest of the food is just as good. I will definitely be back again.

I have to say, John’s Main Event was a very pleasant experience! It’s nice that this covid thing seems to be under control, and being vaccinated not having to wear a mask!
I had the burger and a side salad, my wife had the Patty melt! The bartender which was amazing, whipped everything up quickly. I wish I asked her name. 4 genuine drafts and a Pepsi and the House special hard lemonade mix, was fantastic. Atmosphere very enjoyable, no idiots hanging around even though the bar was full.
I’ve done plenty of security work at different clubs over the years, and it brought back some good memories! A very pleasant and must stop location for anyone not from the area! Friends moved to Burlington, and our first impression of Burlington was extremely positive, and that’s due to John’s Main Event and the bartender that was there that day!

Let me begin by saying if you are deciding between (the main event) and (Fred’s) I’ll make it easy go to the main event!!! Locals know, absolutely no comparison it’s night and day!”end of rant”… Pretty casual at the time we went approx 430 staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome, excellent service. We sat at a table as we were on looking for food at the time and man we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent appetizers,sides”definitely go for the upgrades ” very fresh high quality ingredients prepared perfectly not one thing we had was just good it was excellent. I could continue with all the good things but if you made it this far in the review I’m sure you’ll make the right decision and give them a try.

Was only in town for a week, my husband and I decided to try a few neighborhood bars. This was by far our favorite! Awesome appetizers had to try them all. Great atmosphere, the owner Joe is super friendly. Wish I lived closer by I’d definitely become a regular.

Amazing details of old world craftsmanship all over the bar. Gorgeous paneling on walls and ceiling. Beautiful stained glass light fixtures. Delicious food. My husband and I enjoyed the burgers. Upgraded to the fries and tots. We will definitely be back!
