With Plenty of Booze and Butter, Peter’s Inn is Quintessential Baltimore

At the end of an era, the Fells Point fixture is arguably the most bona fide Baltimore restaurant, if not the last one left in town.

My new favorite restaurant in Baltimore. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant is small and cozy. Squeezing through chairs is part of the experience. I loved the ambiance and charming decor. They have a delicious house salad and the garlic bread is a piece of heaven. We had a fish entree, short rib entree and a pasta dish. Everything was amazing!! They offer a new menu on a regular basis. So good! Highly recommended.

Amazing restaurant that’s perfect for a special occasion or a date night. It is a very small restaurant and you have to make reservations, so this probably best for smaller parties. Expensive but worth it if you want something special. Very nice waitstaff and great atmosphere.

I got the short rib en croute and the garlic bread and both were amazing.

Glad to have finally made it! Fantastic dinner, started slow but once things got moving, it was great! Ugh the shrimp, halibut, and steak were all cooked perfectly! Everything paired well on each plate! Only thing I would change would be better mixing the shrimp pasta so the sauce and pistachios are more fully mixed in and then there’s no seasoning on the burrata. A little freshly ground pepper and/or salt would go a long way, they leave that on the table for you. Very fun night, will be back!

We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer and it was amazing. I also got the 7 oz filet and it is one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Cocktails ordered were the espresso martini and blood orange margarita, both delicious. Finished with affogato for dessert. Quick service and friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back.

On a special visit to see a Baltimore-based friend, we made a reservation for three people for 7pm and were seated right away. The restaurant is small, cozy and crowded with a buzzy vibe. Our server was very friendly and accommodated several special requests re one some dietary restrictions. There was a pretty long gap between taking our drink, starter and entree orders, conveying a relaxed, no-rush atmosphere. Imagine our surprise, then, as we were tucking into our dessert (not-to-miss dark chocolate pot de creme), when the owner walked over and asked if we were almost finished with our table as people were waiting. 10 years in NYC, 25 in DC, and I cannot recall more than one other time being asked to vacate a table, especially not after spending nearly $100 per person. The food was fantastic, and we even spotted John Waters on his way out after dining at one of the tables in the intimate back room, but not sure we can recommend. Our server apologized for the owner’s behavior, but reminded us of her prerogative. What would you think?

For the second year in a row, we had our office holiday party at Peter’s Inn. Last year was great – this year was even more spectacular! Our group of 18 got the whole place to ourselves from 5-8pm on a Saturday evening. (Last year we were a smaller group so used the back tables with other guests at the bar and front tables.)

We started with cocktails, snacks and mingling, and proceeded to a magnificent sit-down dinner. The service was beyond attentive. Everyone ordered what they wanted off the menu and despite the large group and diverse orders, everything came out perfectly and in synchrony. All in all, it was about $120/person plus gratuity – this to me seemed very reasonable for all the apps, entrees, booze, dessert, etc. in such a cozy and festive environment. My office is still talking about how much fun they had! 🙂

Thank you for a memorable night – we look forward to next year!

My wife and mines relationship pretty much blossomed due to a shared love for John Waters so we were planning a trip to Baltimore to see different spots he recommends and this was on that list. All we can say is WoW! Allnour expectations were blown out of the water with excellent and prompt service, an atmosphere you have to experience, and a meal that we havent stopped talking about since. Everything was exquisite and we plan to go back whenever we find ourselves in the Baltimore area. Do not pass up.this unassuming locale which from.the outside looks like a regular dive bar but the experience that awaits inside is something you need to see to believe

My gal pal and I ignorantly tried to drop-in for dinner last night, mistakenly thinking reservations weren’t accepted. After driving about 45 min we were pretty crushed to learn they were fully booked, especially since we hadn’t made a Plan B.

Thankfully, a very kind host/waiter took mercy on us and managed to squeeze us in at the bar, which we were incredibly grateful for. We’d been talking about this dinner for weeks, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The oysters were fabulous, the tagliatelle limon was divine, and the drinks were excellent.

Even with a full house, the staff was attentive, warm, and helpful throughout the evening. It had been about five years since my last visit to Peter’s Inn, and it was the same cozy, special experience I remembered. Next time it won’t take me so long to get back.

Lesson learned: next time we’ll be smarter and make a reservation!

We were in town for a wedding and booked dinner here. We only had appetizers but everything we had was phenomenal! The espresso martinis were great, and our waiter was wonderful! He answered all our questions, and when he didn’t know the answer he asked the chef/owner himself. Would recommend to anyone visiting Baltimore!

I went to Peter’s Inn with my coworkers and it’s a night I truly won’t forget. From the outside, the restaurant might look like a dive bar. You wouldn’t know this restaurant offers a fine dining experience. The ambiance made me feel like I was in one of those quaint, personal, intimate NYC restaurants. Soft lighting, few tables, very moody. I loved every second of the vibe.

We ordered tons of food. Every appetizer (oysters, shrimp cocktail, pâté, caviar), salad (super simple and delish) and garlic bread (cheesy, herby, no clue what was on it but it was absolutely incredible and I would eat an entire loaf), espresso martinis, Palomas, Negronis, etc.

The entrees change week to week, so don’t get to attached to any one thing (follow the Facebook page to get the menu!). It’s obvious that they use the freshest ingredients and make every selection with careful consideration. The steak is one of the few items that’s always available, and it was simply incredible, seared to perfection, juicy, just delicious. I had the beef short rib in croutes which was unbelievable.

Overall, it’s a spot that you must experience. It’s perfect for date night, a gathering with friends or a solo night eating at the bar. I can’t wait to go back! I would have taken more pics but we dove into everything too quickly!
