Comfortable and welcoming tea room. It’s hard to find a place like this in a world of sterile and cold places like Dunkin and Starbucks. Open Door Tea has comfy chairs and decor which say welcome as you enter. And on a cold day like today, the heat was at an appropriate level. They also have a second room where private parties can be held. That’s not even mentioning the full selection of teas. From old standbys to unique new blends.

My family recently enjoyed High Tea hosted by Paula December 26, 2025. She is a craftsman who can execute an elegant, well timed and bespoke menu with the easy grace and hospitality of a dinner party hosted by a friend. Her prep work and her ability to change on the fly marks her as a talented professional, but it is her dedication to the “magic” at the table that makes memories. I really enjoyed the iced London fog latte and banana walnut chai muffin. Tea lattes and tea-based desserts tend to be too weak-tasting for my taste, but the tea flavors are potent and fragrant here. I also like that it’s a cute, unpretentious, and relaxing place to enjoy a chat with a friend or family, unlike some other afternoon tea places. The service is friendly and welcoming.
My only nitpick is that their paper straws don’t hold up well against the wetness of the drink.
