Feeling like you need a quick sweet treat to go with your coffee? they have an AMAZING selection located in the same building also noting that they have a few more pop up vendors in door with fresh honey , etc! Awesome first experience on the go. 10/10 will be back to try more!
#1: There was no gluten free and allergen friendly item on the menu from what I was told. Why have tons of gluten free options, but not even one included that is egg and dairy free? It just doesn’t make sense in terms of accessibility
#2: When I was asking about the gluten free options there was no offer to inquire about the ingredients in them. I just received and “I don’t know they probably do.” I understand that things were busy, but it kind of came off as ‘that sucks for you.’ Even if it was not the intention, it rubbed me the wrong way. I think it is super important to have and ingredient list of some point for when others have inquiries, especially in regards to allergies
#3: The latte I received was very syrupy? I don’t know how to explain it. It wasn’t too sweet but it was just really thick? I was trying to support the business in some type of way after the reason I came here for (the gluten free pastries) turned out to be a dud. Anyway, I could not finish it and I spent the whole day on the toilet basically…(I got oat milk but there seemed to be a cross containment issue of some sort. Had to also take Benadryl) Super disappointed
#4: If you are in a wheelchair, the bathroom is hard to get into with the rug they had. Not impossible just hard to roll over.
Recommendations for Pour Bear: Get LED covers for the harsh, bright industrial lighting. Ask your baker if they have any allergen friendly goods, there our a lot in lakeland that do. Remove or replace the rug in front of the bathroom. Get an allergy ingredients list that the baristas can reference real quick, or create a menu with ingredient list.
Final thoughts: If you don’t have allergies or in a wheelchair, check it out. It’s pretty nice for the most part, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. I personally won’t be coming back because of my needs and values. I prefer inclusive menus and spaces. But feel free to form your own opinion
also very well priced i personally thought!!
I’ve been here a handful of times and have yet to have a bad experience or try something I haven’t liked. Their seasonal menus always have fun options that are really good, and they manage to usually have some unique spins on what most coffee places usually go with.
One of the best I’ve tried has been their “Boo” Brew- a marshmallow cold brew. They have baked goods as well that I believe they get from a local bakery- it can be hit or miss. Some are fantastic while others fall flat so it just depends what you choose there.
Lastly, the vibe here is what really gets me. Walking in you feel transported in time to the 60s & 70s- everything they have seems to have been thrifted or bought secondhand somehow. They have a lot of the art hung up on the walls for sale if you so desire. My mom and my grandma have both said the decor makes them nostalgic of how their families’ houses were decorated growing up, if that gives any hint to the atmosphere. It’s so fun.
Definitely give this place a try!
