Well my first experience was exceptional.. my future visits have been far less. Hands down, one of the worst Popeyes experiences I’ve had. The chicken was soggy and bland, the biscuits were dry and cold, and nothing felt fresh. My food sat around forever even though the place wasn’t that busy, and the staff seemed rushed and uninterested. The whole order felt thrown together with zero attention to detail. Definitely not an experience I’m eager to repeat—seriously disappointing.
Seriously need to figure it out. You’re a fast food restaurant let’s try working on the fast part. I could stomach the underwhelming food if I got it faster but sitting in line for over an hour waiting to till then be told half of my order it’s not available, I could have gone to a sit-down restaurant with a 20 minute wait and then home sooner.
BK’s next door probably a far better experience hell even go to Starbucks might be more expensive but at least you’ll get your food before it’s time for the kids to go to bed.
Furthermore my large coleslaw looks like half of it’s missing and I have no lid? I don’t know what happened since day one but maybe it’s time to rethink this location.

We have ordered from here 5 times and never had less than 3 issues per order. This time, 1 missing biscuit, wrong type of chicken, no sauces. It wasn’t even a busy time. Horrible accuracy.

I ordered using their app. With specific time and specific parts of the chicken that I preferred. Their app doesn’t update about the status so when I’m going to picked it up it’s not yet ready as in they are not aware about it at all. So it ended up I need to wait for another 15 or more minutes for the ordered that I made 2 hrs. Ago. This was here at Popeyes Lewiston Maine located along Lisbon St. Lewiston oh the female that I talked was rude with matching high toned unacceptable.

Came here maybe a month ago and found no issues at all. Just came back today, ordered, paid, went to the second window to get our food, waited at least 15 minutes before I went inside to grab it. Got inside, the younger girl working the counter looked like she may have been talking to her friends who must have just ordered, which is fine, but no one asked if I needed help and she soon ended up out back and I did not see her again. My partner pulled back around to the window to make sure we didnt miss anything. The man working said no, we were in the right spot at the second window. We went to pull forward again, he opened the window and whistled at us waving our bag. We backed up and grabbed the bag and mentioned our drink was missing, he was decent about it and gave us the drink. We said thank you and got nothing in return. They also forgot our fries and the food was room temp at best. Borderline cold. Not usually such an issue to where I have to leave a review but it was really a bummer.

What can I say it’s Popeyes. Some of the best fast food fried chicken there is. Crispy, crunchy and delicious. The spicy has some good spice to it. The mashed potatoes and gravy are cajonlicious. The kitchen and seating area are clean. And the staff is helpful. Definitely expensive!

I will never go back to the South Portland location again. I’ve now been to the new Lewiston Popeyes four times, and every single visit has been excellent. I’m always greeted with a smile, the staff is friendly, and my order is fast, hot, and most importantly — correct. The restaurant is clean, including the bathroom, and the drive-thru is fast and efficient, even when they’re clearly busy. They consistently deliver on service, food, and overall quality. Honestly, they outperform the South Portland location by miles. Every time my kids asked for Popeyes, I used to hesitate — South Portland was just that bad. Lewiston has completely changed my view. Huge credit to this team.

Every time besides once that I’ve been to this Popeyes and they’ve always been out of mac & cheese. I feel like management needs to work on that because paying $.50 extra for something you’re not able to get and not get reimbursed that difference multiple times is getting annoying. But besides that they’re chicken, phenomenal biscuits are very hot and fresh their strawberry cream pie deep fried and it’s really good and their fries are good too if you’re ever looking for a good meal check out this place and also their Mac and cheese is good when they have it. Also their mashed potatoes and gravy are 10 times better than Their competition that’s why I gave it a four star instead of five because they need to fix that and I don’t like giving bad reviews but I felt like I needed to share that. I visited this location for the first time today for a dine-in lunch. The interior was very clean but the lighting was way too bright. There wasn’t a lot of seating – one long high-top table with maybe 6-8 chairs and then a few smaller two-person tables. You can order at 3 kiosks or at the counter. Counter staff was friendly & efficient. I ordered a two-piece chicken meal. It took 10 minutes to get it. The chicken was great – I could tell it had just been fried and that’s probably why it took so long. The biscuit was decent and the fries were OK – they tasted like maybe they had been sitting for a bit. I would give this location another try.

The food is good. Everything else? It’s complicated… While the staff is kind and listens, there must be SOMETHING going wrong with training. I have yet to have a meal out of the 10+ I have purchased at this location to be 100% correct. Online ordering ahead is almost always missing the sauces, drive through orders have had completely incorrect items, and worst of all I have items replaced, without my consent, with items worth a quarter of their price. We have had chicken sandwiches with bones (bone-in wing instead of a tender), cold sides, and a never ending fight to get sauces. I want this place to succeed, but I dont think if this keeps up that they will. For now, I think it’s worth avoiding this location.
