Everything was yummy and felt like my grandmas southern cooking. Fried chicken was crispy and cooked to perfection. I would’ve passed on the banana pudding. It wasn’t homemade probably out the box. Needed to add water to the lemonade because it was too sweet. Nevertheless, I’ll definitely go back for the food. The family who owns the restaurant we’re very kind and my order didn’t take long at all.

I went there with friends and on their recommendation. The food was indeed very good. I chose the Whiting fish…it was “crispy” as I requested and delicious! Although I am not a “big” eater I would have enjoyed slightly bigger side portions Honestly, 3 bites with a half-full fork & it was all over for those yummy collards!

Me and my family have eaten here since before I can remember! The food is always good! I love the fish (mullet, spot, bream) and the fried chicken is very delicious! Now, don’t come in a hurry, because they take their time!!!! However, it’s very much worth the wait. Call ahead for faster service! The pork chop is good too! They even sell that old fashioned penny candy (it ain’t a penny anymore). Try them out, you won’t regret it!

Worth the drive for perfectly seasoned, battered and fried bone-in fish. We also tried the fried chicken and some sides but it’s Ms. Huffman’s 5-star catfish she fixed yesterday that I’m still dreaming about.
A couple of tips based on this, our first, visit: they are only open three days a week, accept cash and check only, the small dining room is spotless and food is made to order – a task that can take 25 minutes per table on a busy Saturday – and that fish made it worth the wait.
We did get the idea that catfish is not always available, so be prepared to order unfilleted croaker or mullet, instead.
