Reviews
Last night was an outstanding dinner at this restaurant and it’s easily one of the best Indian meals ever.
From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm and inviting, with elegant decor that struck the perfect balance between modern and traditional.
The food was the true standout.
We started with various starters. The starter that stood out to me was the Chicken Bao Buns. They were incredible!
Every year my main consists of the delights from the famous Smithy (from Gavin and Stacey) Indian order.
I’m not a lover of prawn so I swap the Prawn Bhuna for something else. This time I chose Chicken Tikka Masala. It was amazing!
If you are reading this and stuck with what to order, please try their Lamb Bhuna. It was so flavourful without being overly oily—a rare find.
The Keema Naan was fresh out of the tandoor, fluffy, and just the right amount of charred.
The Mushroom rice was delicious. Not forgetting the cheeky last add on which was Saag aloo. The potatoes were tender, tasty, and full of Indian flavour.
The service was impeccable. Our server and the whole Kushi team were extremely knowledgeable. Our food arrived promptly, and we never felt rushed.
We really had a great time at Kushi and even had a sing song.
Given the high quality of ingredients and the generous portion sizes, the pricing was very reasonable. There was enough food at the end for me to takeaway.
This is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Indian Flavors with top-tier service.
My team and I will be back soon!
Thank you to all at Kushi for looking after us
Response to the waiters passive aggressive reply: your reply is exactly why you won’t get repeat custom. Instead of sympathising and offering a solution, you responded like a sassy little teenager. Your manager needs to review your employment.
Thanks Raj for the good vibes as well.
1. Water and dates were put on our table without any communication- we initially thought this was complimentary to break our fast with as they didnt say anything. At the end, we see we were charged for the water. If this was the case, this should’ve been communicated which we then wouldn’t have bought an additional drink.
2. Ordered a strawberry mojito – got a classic one instead. Sent it back and the waiter just added a huge amount of strawberry syrup on top which even after stirring just tasted like thick syrup mixed with water and undrinkable.
3. Ordered Bombay bombs as starters – received Bao Buns instead. As it was time to break fast, we let this be. The other starter we ordered was Tikka Sushi which was disgusting and just covered in an overwhelming amount of crispy onions.
4. Ordered the mixed grill – it didn’t come yet they tried charging us for it. when we bought this to the waiters attention, there wasn’t even any apology, just corrected it – shit service.
5. Ordered peshwari naan – received plain naan instead.
6. Mains we got sylheti lamb and butter chicken – by far the worst curries i’ve ever tasted.
7. The food was that bad that I heard a family sat beside us who were complaining of how ‘disgusting’ the food was.
8. After leaving this place, both me and my husband got a stomach ache from eating here.
We didn’t say anything at the time as it is ramadan and we wanted to just get out of there but as someone who was fasting all day, I didn’t expect to go out for iftar and try filling myself up with water because the food was that bad. Don’t believe the hype you see on social media – really not worth it. Such a shame we paid for such rubbish food.
**Response as it doesn’t let me respond to your reply: If there were any good words to say, I would say however in this case, I don’t want to falsely review somewhere I didn’t think was worth it – I still stand by my review.
I didn’t claim I got a stomach ache “soon as i ate” nor did I say food poisoning. I simply told the truth that after eating at your restaurant, we both had stomach aches. I didn’t give a timeline whether it was 10mins later or 1 hour later for you to jump to that point. This is my review on the place and I found the food disgusting as well as the family who were seated near me. You are quick to defend yet fail to acknowledge and apologise for all the other mistakes that happened. At the end of the day, this is my personal experience here and judging by all the other reviews i’ve seen – i wasnt the only one. take the feedback and move on.
My first outing with my newborn and the staff done everything for us to keep him comfortable. Place was busy and they still took extra care and attention.
Service was amazing but food was somehow better. From starters to desert, we were mind blown. Flavours, presentation, temperature everything PERFECT. Highly recommend the Jaal chicken if you like spicy food & the butterfly prawns if you like seafood. They were phenomenal but every single dish was faultless.
All our food was out within 20-25 minutes and honestly it was one of the best Indians I have had in a very long time.
For 2 rounds of drinks, starter, 2 curries, 2 rice, naan bread and masala fries came to about £70 which is honestly so reasonable for how much you get and the taste.
Already planning to come back for our next date night and cannot wait to try the cocktails with how good the mocktails were
