If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! The food was fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu is superior with so many delicious options, and the atmosphere is warm, charming, and welcoming. The service was equally impressive, friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this tea room in West Jefferson. It’s an absolute gem and a must-visit!

A good friend and I enjoyed the August sunflower-themed High Tea and I was once again surprised and delighted by the variety and flavors in the assortment Chef Michella created.

The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is both inspired and delicious. The tea selection is also excellent, containing multiple options for every taste and caffeine tolerance, and I’ve enjoyed every variety I’ve tried.

Such a lovely, pleasant tearoom. The atmosphere, service, and food were over the top and the entire experience was relaxing and charming. I have been to several tearooms across the USA and am beyond thrilled to have High Country Tea & Grazing Room only a couple hours from home. The Grand Tea was delicious and worth the drive up from Charlotte. The salad was so fresh, I looked for a garden behind the building. The menu is filled with choices and I am looking forward to returning soon in order to try the Chicken Pot Pie! Hats off (several available) to the staff and owner who provided us with a true Tea experience!

High Country Tea and Grazing Room is an absolute delight! The owner went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies, thoughtfully adjusting my tea platter and even providing additional selections so I could fully enjoy the experience. The food was fantastic, beautifully prepared, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Truly one of the best teas I’ve had all year! The tea selection was incredible, ranging from caffeine-free blends to high-caffeine options, all presented with care and knowledge. A five-star experience from start to finish, I can’t wait to go back!

It was an Excellent experience, with flavors to excite the palate. This time of year is such a welcoming time to enjoy Hot Tea and the various taste to remember and reflect on the memories of Teas spent with Our Mother, Aunt, and family. I have tired to take a word of advice from our Mother. Sip on your Tea and relax.

Thank you for all your hard work to make the our Tea an enjoyable time.

Your efforts are an act of love we can tell.

Absolutely amazing time. Food was really nice and delicious. Homemade pimento cheese had so much flavor. I’d recommend the strawberry blanc tea it was amazing and was like a strawberry cheese cake. Our server was amazing I didn’t catch her name but she had a nose piercing along with tattoos she was so sweet and was just fantastic! Best place I’ve been in West Jefferson and Jefferson area

Following is a lengthy review from someone who grew up in The Cotswolds of England.
Pros:
1. Staff/service was great. Servers were incredibly friendly and efficient
2. Interior design / China – well decorated and a great collection of fine china on display
3. Selection of teas – smashing! So many choices that I struggled in making my decision.

Now the cons:
1. Location – be advised this is next door to the movie lounge. As they have a shared wall and the sound system is mounted to said wall – the china and mirrors were vibrating and we could hear the movie during what was supposed to be peaceful service. Make sure you look up movies times prior to making a reservation here.
2. Food – in general tasted good – but really missed the mark for $35 per person. My wife and I came in with high expectations and walked out paying $70+ for really an experience not necessarily the food.
3. Scones – sorry but these are not scones. What was served to us on the tower was shocking. A single bite nugget that was dwarfed by the Cheddar Bay Biscuit (not cookie – but Red Lobster style biscuit). When I heard my wife actually crunching on it – I knew we were in for something different. The color / texture / cook was not that of a scone.
4 – Clotted cream? I’m not sure it was. More like whipped butter maybe? It was served in such a small quantity that we could not coat the scones.
5 – The Curry Chicken Wraps – while they were tasty wraps – I wouldn’t call them Curry.

All in all – the experience in nice. I struggled paying $35 per person especially when they were not scones and the movie theater was shaking the walls.
