Beefbar was founded in Monaco in 2005 by restaurateur Riccardo Giraudi, who developed the business to break away from what he thought were the classic codes of the steakhouse.
Expect bright and luxurious interiors and street food dishes alongside steaks and sharing plates overseen by our executive chef Matthew Parker, who has worked with the group executive chef Thierry Paludetto and Giraudi on the menu.

The restaurant itself is very nicely done – I was staying at the hotel but had already wanted to come to try the steaks prior to booking my hotel anyways.
The service is very friendly and attentive, they know what they’re doing!
The cocktail list was absolutely fantastic. I have been to MANY cocktail bars haha, but their menu with visually beautiful cocktails all laid out made me want to try one of each! Very creative and wished more establishments did that.
The steak sando was very good, the presentation is quite unique and appreciated.
The rocket corn was very very good as well. Super crispy and a good mix of sweet and salty.
The steak was also fabulous – I was given the wrong sauce with my steak, but as soon as I told the waitress she corrected this.
My only suggestion for my meal, would be to ensure either to have the server comeback around and put out the candle underneath the steak platter after a few minutes or reminding the diner to do so themselves. Because as I was enjoying my steak, thinking it was just keeping warm above the candle – it was actually cooking my steak more and it become well done from medium rare just in 10-15 mins for me to get to the other end of the steak. The rest was a bit chewy so I left it.
Overall, I would come back again as the service and food overall was delicious.

My first time at Beef Bar in Edinburgh. The rib eye was one of the best steaks I’ve had in Edinburgh. The scallops were excellent. We tried a couple of the salads which were also excellent. The glazed carrots were exceptional and the broccoli was well cooked and seasoned also. The service was good overall but thought it was unusual that a steakhouse serves their red wines at room temperature instead of cellar temperature and the server acted like it must be an American thing for me to want to chill my red wine to cellar temperature instead of drinking at room temperature. Also had a hard time getting the attention of the server to fill our wine glasses as the wine bottle was in a chiller several feet from the table as I asked them to chill the wine so that it was closer to cellar temperature.

They said it’s the best meat restaurant in Edinburgh, so I trusted the reviews and I have to say I had a great great experience! I don’t eat much meat but I had to try something in Scotland. Ribeye was great, medium-rare for me was excellent. Definitely one of the best meat I ever had! My girlfriend is vegetarian and she said the cauliflower steak was good, maybe the portion was too much for her. Makes sense since it’s a sharing experience. It’s great to have a veg option in a meat’s restaurant menu. However, what about introducing a non-meat burger? Besides that, she enjoyed more the crunchy salad among the starters. I think you can’t go wrong with any of the starters. And don’t skip the dessert! Last but not least: big thumbs up for the service and for the caring attention to my allergies. Shout out to the bartender too, he was too kind to carefully explain me the ingredients of my cocktail to make sure it would be safe for me.

One of the best meals we’ve had in Edinburgh and beyond. The crab tacos & beef quesadilla starters were excellent with great flavours and the lemon chicken was so juicy and full of flavour. It went really well with the jalepeno mash which was a fun addition. The star of the dinner was the expertly prepared wagyu steak which was better than ones we had recently in Japan(which were great but this was phenomenal)! It just melted in your mouth and the wasabi it was served with added a great dimension. We enjoyed speaking with the Executive Chef and the service from Weronika was excellent – very friendly and attentive. Also great cocktails and dessert. We enjoyed the brioche french toast and chocolate soufflé very much. Cannot wait to return! Thank you for a special evening.

The best beef I have had in Edinburgh. We went for dinner on Boxing Day. Cocktail: baby colada (8/10… little too sweet), and mocktail: capitalise the caper (9/10.. refreshing). For starters, we shared the baby quesadillas with chimichurri (9/10… very good, slow braised beef fell apart), croque sando with the cured striploin prosciutto (7/10… a little too much Dijon in sauce, was too sharp), insane rock corn (8/10… pleasing to the eye and lots of fun). We did a medium rare 270 grain fed rib eye (10/10 perfectly executed) and a lemon chicken robata (9/10… super tender despite a breast cut) for mains with a serve of black truffle mash (9/10… very buttery and flavourful; definitely one to share to avoid feeling surfeited from the richness). Service was impeccable (10/10) and the festive ambience was the icing on the cake (10/10). This is top restaurant for me in Edinburgh. Unpretentious, just beautifully executed dishes.

This place serves the best steak frites I’ve ever had. The baby quesadillas are also a must-try.
However, I’m giving it only one star because of the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the staff. Throughout my meal, I felt unwelcome and the staff was dismissive.
First, we waited for an entire 30 minutes for our steak frites. When I asked the waitress, she said she would check and then came back to tell us the kitchen was closed because they were on break. If that was true, they should have given us a heads up.
Second, I asked for a soft drink twice, once from the waiter with green hair and once from the waitress. Both times, I was ignored, even though the waitress told me it was on its way. I was watching them do nothing since our table was right near the bar.
The only professional staff member was the Indian waiter, who seemed to be the hardest worker.
It’s unfortunate that these unprofessional behaviors ruin an otherwise delicious meal and leave a bad taste in my mouth. I hope the management takes action to improve the customer experience.

Best lunch on our visit to Edinburgh. A must visit!
I went for the Steak Frites and my SO had the chicken. The house sauce was phenomenal, blows l’Entrecôte out the water. NY strip cooked perfectly, upgraded to the truffle fries which were fantastic, actual truffle sauce and not just the fake flavour oil.
The service here was incredible. They ran the perfect line between absent and overbearing, perfectly attentive. Not sure of their name but the lad from Finchley who was serving us deserves a raise!
I went for the set lunch menu and my SO ordered from the à la carte – which is a nice touch as a lot of places make the whole table order from the set menus.
I’m usually hesitant of restaurants that are part of hotels but this did not disappoint.
Will 100% return on our next visit – likely stay at the hotel too just to be even closer.

The restaurant and bar area are stunning and finished beautifully giving it a classically cool vibe. The food was stunning, delicious and beautiful to look at! We all enjoyed every mouthful as it was cooked to perfection! Will not hesitate to eat here again for sure!

Quality meat, pretty much the perfect place to go to for steak. I ordered the Crying Tiger, so juicy, so flavorful, very nice cut of meat. The wine selection is well-curated. The mash is so good, might as well be the highlight of my trip to Edinburgh lol. Kudos to the team, very attentive and friendly.
