From the time i walked in until i left, the service was great. I got a 3 meat plate (ribs, brisket and turkey) w beans, fries and potato salad. The sides were great! The brisket and ribs were ok, not bad but the turkey was the best! I would definitely recommend this place .

Big Mac’s is hands down the best BBQ place in Hope. The food is always fresh, hot, and full of flavor every single time I go. The brisket is tender, the ribs fall right off the bone oh and did I mention the ribs have so much meat on them, and the banana pudding is amazing. The root beer float is great too! You can tell they take pride in what they serve.
The staff is friendly and welcoming and the service is quick without feeling rushed. Portions are generous and worth the money. If you’re in Hope and want real BBQ, this is the place to go. I haven’t had a bad meal yet and I keep coming back. The wait may be long sometimes, but it is very well worth it.

If you are traveling through, this is a must stop. Great food and service, clean restaurant and the young man and lady working on Friday, December 26, 2025, you are the best in the business! Highly recommended you stop here!

Got the 2 meat w/baked beans and okra. Two large slices of brisket, both with more fat than meat. Other slices had thick fat along top slices and others riddled with fat. The baked beans, which I used to love, are now different; thick and tacky, somehow dry. The bun hadn’t been fresh in several days, or was just left setting out all day. The only good thing was the okra. (That’s the one star.) Kind of wondering if we were given this because we ordered delivery. Can’t refuse the food and/or request different. Very disappointed. I used to love Big Mac’s! No longer.

We are glad we stopped at Big Mac’s. The service was excellent and people friendly. The catfish and okra was better than average. The beans were too sweet. The sausage was good. The building is understated and the bathroom could use an update.

Does not look like much from the outside. Don’t judge a book by its cover though !!! Inside was great !! Had the brisket and pulled pork. I will be back !! There baked beans are amazing !!!

We LOVED the hand-cut fries which were soft in the middle yet not greasy—hard to find this perfect combo. We also LOVED the Bobcat Burger which comes with 2 homemade 1/4# patties normally (I requested just one) & a nice slice of brisket with the burnt ends attached. D R O O L !
I also enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with slaw that I dumped right on top. The sauce is too sweet for me but that’s the case most of the time.
The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened & is also just right ordered as 1/2 sweet.
Looking forward to making this my meal of choice in-between DFW & NEA. I love the charm of the old-school inner & outer—quintessential hidden gem feature.

Moving on with Old man river
I had the chicken fried steak and it was real steak and not just ground up hamburger. The waitress’s was very nice and come to find out my eyes were not seeing double as the waitress’s were twins. The price was reasonable for my real steak meal. I will have to come back here.

Stopped by on our travels and couldn’t believe what we found. Amazing burgers and pulled pork. Crispy fries and amazing banana pudding. Margaret and staff have excellent customer service.

Looks can be deceiving when pulling up, but my goodness one of the top 3 burgers I’ve ever had, if not the top. Got the smash burger and the lunch portion of the brisket loaded nachos. Nachos were also good! But that burger… we’re driving back through tomorrow and we might stop back. Tell your friends.
