My overall experience was awesome. The cocktails were amazing, especially if you’re a fan of mezcal. They offer two great versions: sour and bitter, and both are excellent. You can enjoy caviar with your drinks, which makes the experience feel extra special. The other cocktails were also very good.
They also serve a special cognac that is a must-try. It really stands out and adds a refined touch to the whole dining experience.
The beef tartare was absolutely delicious, definitely something you should try. For the main course, I highly recommend the steak frites with the caramelized onion sauce. The flavor was fantastic. I’d also recommend the salmon, it’s wrapped in a sweet bread with a croissant-like texture, which makes it unique and very enjoyable.
For dessert, you’ll love the signature crème brûlée. It has a special presentation that makes it even better.
The atmosphere was great as well. Pianist plays while you are enjoying your meal. Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting.

Fantastic decor, great ambience and excellent service! I tried the beef tartare for my first time and it was excellent. The duck however was good, but not great hence the mixed ratings. But if you are looking for good French cuisine this side of town, highly recommend.

Went here for a date night last night. Ambiance is 10/10. It is a snug seating but warm lighting, intimate feel, and lovely decor. The escargot puff pastry was out of this world – just amazing. Caesar salad very shareable which they’re willing to split it up also great. French onion was decent (also split for us). Oysters are worth stopping by for on happy hour; thought they were fine but they’re also oysters lol there was pieces of sharp shell hidden under my first oyster which was not fun to almost swallow. Cocktails were 10/10 along with service.
Food is really getting 3 stars for my entree. I got the quail seasonal special on the menu right now. It was stuffed and came with a red wine sauce/small potatoes and carrots. This thing was more so swimming in the sauce and the red wine was not reduced out enough so my carrots and food in general straight tasted like alcohol. Quail was okay. A lot of rosemary was used and the sauce ultimately over took the whole dish making it feel very one note. Overall price point for what we got.. just felt a little let down. Never have a problem spending money for great food but sounded better on paper.

The staff is incredibly nice and also gorgeous. LOVE the clear allergy information on the menu and the server was very knowledgeable.
You guys should spruce up the cheese board tho the mini Brie gave prepackaged weird vibes but was still yum. And maybe provide apple slices since gluten free cannot have the bread to spread the cheese on. The Dijon mustard was so good I did lose my mind.

Very disappointing experience. I do not recommend eating here.
We arrived a for our reservation and when I told them they asked with surprise, your reservation is for 5 people?! Umm, yes… oh, ok. Well do you want to sit inside or out? We chose outside.
Drinks and food were ordered. Drinks came first and then food came little at a time. The first food to come was French toast and yellow jackets started to come. At first it was just a couple, but then they started to swarm. It was impossible to eat comfortably.
We asked to be moved inside and they said absolutely not. The inside was closed. I reminded them we could have chosen that to begin with and they said it didn’t matter, since we didn’t choose that we couldn’t go in. Meanwhile our food is getting cold and not all the food is even out yet, because they strung it out so much.
Then the steak came, ordered medium and it was extremely rare. Even the server said yeah that’s not medium, so we had to send it back.
In the meantime we paid to leave because the bees were everywhere. They came and tried to take our food and throw it away (that we had paid for). I said hey can’t we get a box? The server actually said oh there are so many bugs on it I didn’t think you’d want it…. umm yeah it is pretty gross that’s the whole point of asking to go in.
We paid $300 for this. Don’t waste your time or money.

Le Petit Marcel is a lovely French bistro. A piece of France transported to Chicago. I went for brunch and had the French omelete, which was creamy, delicious and very authentic. The coffee was phenomenal as well. The service was top-notch. My server was warm and attentive. The ambiance at this charming bistro is pleasant and elegant, but not snooty. I look forward to returning and trying other dishes from their menu. I highly recommend it.

We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation. The hostess asked if we preferred sitting inside or outside. We chose outside. We ordered our drinks and then food. The drinks came and were very good. Two of us ordered French toast, one with a side of bacon. One order was steak, medium, one was an omelet, one I’m not. sure of the name and one was the petit cheeseburger. We began eating the French toast so it didn’t get cold as the temps were cool. Meanwhile, a yellow jacket flew in and around. No big deal. The omelet comes out. Then the unnamed item. More yellow jackets arrive. Pretty soon we were swarmed with yellow jackets. We didn’t even have all our food yet and eating was becoming impossible much less enjoyable.
Finally, the side of bacon comes out, well after the French toast. We ask to be moved inside and we’re told no, they would not seat us inside. We said we were offered inside seating at arrival and they said yes but that was then, this is now, basically. We pointed out the wasp situation. At this point they are crawling in and on our drinks, on our plates, on the food. The steak arrives, totally extra rare. Even the server was like, that’s not medium. The final item, cheeseburger, arrives. And we are told by mgmt that they will not move us inside to a table because they can’t seat us inside anymore. It’s the rule. Inside is empty. We’ve come a ways to have a nice meal and are told, “we can’t control the wasps”. No but you CAN control how you respond.
Would you enjoy this meal?
Epic fail, Le Petit Marcel.

I went to the restaurant close to closing and they were still very kind and welcoming. The food was amazing, the mocktails were delicious. They have various to choose from and was not disappointed. My server named Samantha was very attentive and helpful with amazing recommendations. The atmosphere is peaceful with beautiful outdoor seating. Will definitely be returning!

I don’t often do anything other than 5 stars, but it felt that they were trying to put more tables then what fit in this restaurant to get more people, not considering the experience. The first table we were at was directly in front of the kitchen, with the Expo lady yelling at the kitchen directly behind us and people running around the table (literally), you could feel the floor moving and the wind of them running back and forth narrowly missing us. This table should not be there. We then requested to move so we moved to the one next to us which was better than the first table, but still not good. I would take out these two tables if the restaurant cares about guest experiences over revenues. It saddens me to write like this because it was good service and good food, but it is something i wish id requested (not to sit there) because after spending 100$ per person on a dinner it should be a minimum expectation that you have a decent seating arrangement.

Extremely comfortable interior with excellent food. The charcuterie was very good, with a good balance of unique and familiar flavors. The steak was cooked perfectly and was of very high quality. Unfortunately, they were out of a few menu items when we went, and it would be nice if they played better, quieter music though; poor, modern pop covers don’t quite fit the vibe I’m looking for in this sort of restaurant. Regardless, this is a must hit upscale restaurant in the area, and I’d be happy to return.
