**5 Stars – Authentic Italian Excellence with Allergy-Friendly Care**

This quaint, rustic Italian restaurant is an absolute gem. From the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the charm of its old-world decor, it truly feels like you’ve been transported straight to a small village in Italy.

The food is nothing short of exceptional. They use incredibly fresh ingredients to create authentic, deeply satisfying flavors—just like you’d experience in Italy. Every dish reflects true culinary excellence, with a level of quality and care that’s becoming rare to find. It’s a masterclass in rustic Italian cooking, and you can taste the difference in every bite.

What impressed me even more is how allergy-friendly this place is. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and takes dietary restrictions seriously without making it feel like a burden. They went above and beyond to ensure a safe, delicious meal that didn’t compromise on flavor or creativity.

With an amazing variety on the menu, flawless execution, and genuine hospitality, this is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. A must-visit for food lovers—whether you have allergies or not!

It was laughable….i guess we drew the short straw on the awful waitress the poor reviewers spoke about. If you’re not a townie you get treated like a third class citizen it’s actually wild. Family of 4 with kids arrive at 5pm. Orders drinks. 2 more groups come in 10 minute later orders drinks . Get their drinks immediately. Waitress comes over oh did you want your drinks now or with dinner. Are you kidding!? Now please. 534pm we get our drinks. Kids asked for Shirley temple never got it of course even after asking 2x. Waitress then has an attitude and pretends she’s the victim. I’m just here to eat and drink and pay my bill. Not hard. Idk why this place is a 4.5……

Take care will never come here again

Prato is a nice lil find tucked into small shopping center… offering some pretty solid Italian classics.

The ambiance is a bit loud but not in a bad way and the decor is welcoming. Our waiter was attentive n friendly so all in all a good start.

We ordered of the specials to start w/ arancini being the choice app. They came out rather timely… they were sausage n broccoli rabe stuffed I believe n overall the flavor was very good though I felt they could have gone a little longer and had a more al dente risotto as it was a bit gummy.

Our entrees all came out at the same time and were very well executed. Each dish had the right seasoning and depth of flave that you look for in good cooking. Homemade pastas were good and personally my scarpareillo was delicious.

Will definitely be returning again soon.

Great Italian food with a nice small family atmosphere. In the end, the pizzas are always the best choice, but the entrees are worth exploring.

Food is great. Service is excellent. Prices are very fair. Try a loaf of fresh made bread with your meal (order ahead for bread). Great pizza as well.

I happened to be up in Carmel, NY as my tattoo artist has a shop there. I was starving and wanted Italian. (*Do NOT let the plaza type restaurant pizza shop up front fool you!!)
In the back behind the pizza shop is this warm cozy little spot serving up hot plates of delicious Italian cuisine!!!! My server Celia was amazing! It was packed and I see why. I started with Mozzarella Carrozza. Delicous…. fried cheese is everything!!! I ordered the Chicken Sorrentina which Celia recommended. I wanted more it was THAT GOOD! Pictures do not do this hidden place any justice!! You must come here for yourself!!
Food, ambiance and service! A1. I will be back

Update.
Time and time again I keep coming back for more. I already left a review but I feel I didn’t do Prato justice. Let’s break down the actual pizza.

1. The cheese – Amazing. Not to oily. Not to chewy. Very enjoyable flavor.

2. The flop – Very good! Sturdy enough to taco but you’d have to use two hands. The actual size of the pizza is above average you get a lot for what you’re ordering.

3. The sauce – This is where Prato gets me every time. There must be something in the sauce because each bite is bursting with bold flavors.

4. Toppings – if you’re going for a traditional pepperoni pie you’re in the right place. They somehow have managed to achieve the perfect cheese to sauce to toppings ratio this side of the Mississippi. Honestly I’d put them in my top 5 favorite pizza contenders.

5. The crust – Superb! I wish the crust was a little thinner but it’s crunchy with an excellent chew experience.

Suggestion… keep doing what you’re doing

Customer service… always delightful and nice.

Original review.
Nothing like crushing a pizza at the end of a long work day. Prato knows how to make a perfect slice. Even the crust makes you want to chew extra long just to enjoy the flavor. Definitely will be going back. Yes $18 for a large pepperoni pizza is a little on the expensive side but it’s worth it. Staff is nice as well!
