Really enjoyed the visit to whiskey smoke 808 for the first time. The waiter was really wise and walked us through the menu like a pro. Definitely got us the right size portions based on steering us in the right direction. I had the pork and brisket tacos. Both were great. I tried the guava bbq sauce also it was nice and had a good like twang to it. The mac and cheese was so great and you could taste the smoke. Really Enjoyed the meal and service. Not a ton of seating so probably best to get in early. The pit master was nice enough to show us some of the meats being smoked. Great family and people! I’d come back and think it’s some of the best bbq on Oahu! Mahalo!

Nothing better then walking into a place a seeing it packed with locals. One glimps of food and smell of the food and one could see why. Excellent food and service all the way around. Best place we ate the entire week we were here. Highly recommend.

Love love love. Service is good, welcomed by friendly staffs. Restaurant is not big so be prepared maybe longer waiting time during peak hours like weekends. Food was solid, recommend chicken wings with chili guava, brisket and lamb chop. Super tender and flavorful. I’ve been there several times already, the food quality is very stable and have good consistency.

Good BBQ. The pulled pork is much better than what we had at the Luau we went to. A little pricey, but no more than anywhere else in Hawaii. My husband and I shared the two meat plate and it was plenty for the both of us.

Not going to lie, probably the best BBQ we’ve had on the island since moving here. My husband and I first tried this place at the Tattoo Expo in town and it hit the spot! We’ve been back twice now since the expo and it just gets better. You can’t go wrong with their burgers, pork ribs, brisket, or Mac & cheese!!! Highly recommend trying their desserts, especially their banana pudding. Staff is friendly and the young lady who makes desserts is always checking in us. Make sure to support her and this business!

I visited Whiskey Smoke 808 over the weekend for dinner with my family. I consider this restaurant a decent option; if you are craving American-style BBQ, their hours make them a readily available choice.
Atmosphere and Seating:
The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but fortunately, we were seated within five minutes. A large group of 10 to 12 people arrived immediately afterward. Luckily, the staff was able to accommodate them, though we had to temporarily relocate so they could reshuffle the seating arrangements.

It took a while before a server attended to us. We kept trying to make eye contact to signal we were ready to order. Most of the staff appeared to be “talking story” and not looking our way. Perhaps it was late in the evening, but they seemed checked out. When we finally did order, however, the server was helpful and tried to explain some of the menu items.

Our order arrived in good time, likely because most of the items are pre-made. Most of my family opted for the two-choice entrée plate. My selection was the brisket, pork ribs, smoked mac & cheese, smoked baked beans, and a side of pork sausage.
Overall, the food was not bad. The coffee bourbon BBQ sauce definitely helped the brisket, though I couldn’t distinctly taste the coffee flavor. The mac & cheese was really good, but surprisingly lacked a smoky flavor. Similarly, I couldn’t taste or smell any smoke in the baked beans, nor did I detect the signature kauwe wood flavor in those sides. The pork sausage was disappointingly dry.
The clear winner was the pork ribs. They were soft, juicy, and literally fell off the bone.

All in all, the food is decently priced and the taste is fine, making it a satisfactory place to satisfy a BBQ craving, but it could certainly improve on service and delivering a true smoke flavor in its side dishes.

I’m a vegetarian and I LOVED this stop. Sure, my husband loved the meat—my husband loved the brisket sandwich, it looked like juicy goodness. And I LOVED their sides. The fries were just the right crispy texture and their coleslaw was fresh and flavorful. Their sweet potato casserole was mouth watering! Loved love love it all.

OH and to top it off, Meggled Browned butter tres leches cake was perfection. Thank you!

The service was very friendly and helpful. The meats were good, the fries were excellent, and the original sauce was our favorite. There is plenty of parking in the attached lot. The restaurant is clean.

Look, it is Hawaii it’s not like we have a huge traditional BBQ scene.

However as someone from the south the food here is delicious, reasonably priced and manly sized portions.

I come here fairly regularly and will continue to do so.

This time I went with the ribs, smoked beans and smoked Mac. Was fantastic

I’m so disappointed in this place. I really wanted to like it. It just missed the mark on too much all at once. It’s really no better than you could make at home. Actually, you could do better.

First of all, the google pictures are of a different location all together. The building looks nothing like the one in the google reviews from years ago. It looks like an old fast food spot, complete with the drive thru window. Once inside it’s dull and dingy looking. There were people sitting around waiting for orders (that should’ve been my next clue).

Contrary to the name, there is absolutely no whisky anywhere in sight. No bar, not even bottled beers. We tried ordering three things that were “sold out”. From ordering to receiving our food it was over 30 minutes. Brisket was dry. Mac and cheese was oily, and Sweet tea tasted like the premade stuff. Even after ordering an all meat plate they only give you one sauce option in a small tin serving cup.

Servers were nice enough. Just seemed like a bunch of high school kids left alone while the parents were out. Oh, and a discount for cash purchases? What the heck?!

We will not be returning.
