Thai Place, the very first Thai restaurant on the North Shore.
Reviews
We ordered fried tofu, curry puffs, rainbow fried rice and hot chili fried rice. The tofu and curry puffs were not bad. the curry puffs are basically just small samosas. The rainbow fried rice was okay. Basic, middle-of-the-road fried rice. The hot chili fried rice, however, was possibly the best fried rice dish I’ve ever eaten. We were fighting over the last bite. That dish alone raised my review by a whole star and a half.
It was so crowded, it’s hard to judge the atmosphere or cleanliness of the place. the bathrooms were clean, though which is a good sign, especially when they were that busy.
The staff were friendly and the food was solidly delicious for the items we ordered. The main dishes started around $20 a plate and Thai beer was $9, thrown in an appetizer and your starting cost per person is about 30-40. This seemed typical for the area to sit down during a very tourist gathering time. (They did have lunch specials)
Inside was a touch warm but over all clean and welcoming.
After taking a seat she brought chemical bottles and proceeded to clean the empty table next to me continuously. The smell was strong, pretty distasteful of her, I can tell she was upset or not having a good day.
Pad Thai looked like ramen noodles topped with 4 small pieces of boiled chicken ( spoiled meat taste), she left the dish on the table, and left, never came back to check on my meal.
I do not only “not” recommend the place for the service but the food, I’m a traveler and would hate to cut my vacation short due to food poising
Please be aware of the little ones, if you go with your kiddos please taste their meal to make sure the meat is not spoiled.
*Pad thai is not part of the lunch menu*
Dont go to this one. They are so rude, only start nice when at the end when they gave bills, I notice they forget to put on of my friend’s food to the bill. I was being honest and tell them they forgot to put one dish to the bill. That is the moment they finally talk sweet n nice and say thank you.
Food lil bit pricey for average quality, service awful. Just don’t go here !
Customer Service:
Great! Warming. Charming!
Food:
Food needs a bit of consistency.
My food, Sesame Seed Chicken: simple, comfort food. It was lacking something to bring out that hidden flavor. A bit of salt or something else.
The flavors were almost there but missing something.
I will say, that for me, I could eat it everyday day. It was not salty which is my problem with Thai food.
Again, it was missing something to bring those flavors to the top.
Same thing with the Shrimp plate.
Thai Rolls:
Great!
You must request the pineapple sauce. That is worth dying for!
The Thai tea was one of the best I have ever had. Well balanced. Not too sweet not too bitter. Just perfect.
