The service was good but the food was awful. Usually it’s not bad it avg but for some reason the sandwich was absolute dog. Think they hired a new guy. The manager needs to start hiring better or maybe get behind the grill himself.

Surprisingly this chicken taste great. They have a 4 for $5 deal that I always buy. It includes 3 peace of dark meat with a biscuit. The service is slow they need more staff and they aren’t the friendliest but this wont stop me from buying here. Place always clean.

10/18 – This place needs to be shut down immediately. We ordered a cheeseburger with cheese fries today at 8:30 PM via door dash. As my husband started eating the burger, he saw that the burger was RAW (see picture attached). This was the first and last time we will be eating from this pace.

I quickly took the food and drove down to the Texas Chicken and Burgers in Selden, from where we ordered.

I waited only a few seconds to be serviced, then I asked the guy at the register if I could speak to the manager. He says, “oh sorry, the manager is only here until 5 PM.” I proceed, “Oh, then is there someone in charge right now?” He says, “No, I don’t think anyone’s in charge…”

So at this point, I’m frustrated, and I decide to show him the burger that was raw and I tell him, “Well, you need to see this. We ordered this via door dash, and the burger is raw.” He takes the burger and quickly throws it in the trash. Then he says “We can make another burger since you brought it back. It looks like the dog got to it.” (There was no dog that could have gotten to the burger at all, and I explained that). Then he says whenever he’s ready, he can come in and get more food since he brought it back, and said 2 more times that the dog got to it.

Then I said, “Can we just get a refund for this?” and he says, “Oh that would be this guy’s call. He’s in charge.” (After I literally just asked you if there was someone in charge and you said no) He proceeds to tell the guy that it looked like the dog got to the burger, probably ______’s dog. And it seemed the guy probably said yes.

After that, he tells me that my husband has ordered from there several times before and that he knows him and that the dog always gets to the food. He further said, “we all have dogs here.” We have NEVER ordered from this place before and will never again.

At this point, after you saying 5 times that some mysterious dog got to the burger, I just want a refund. I don’t want anymore food from this establishment ever again, and I said, “can I just get a full refund. We don’t need any food.” and he says “Oh you’ll need to call corporate for that. You can complain about the food there too.”

I don’t know who the guy at the front with the salt and pepper goatee is, but he’s the one who engaged in this interaction. I’m not sure if he was trying to provide good customer service or if he was just being nice nasty, but regardless, they are serving people raw food at this place, and it’s not right.

We’ve been to the other location, decided to try lunch at this location. As it’s new, appearance was clean. Counter person was friendly. I got the 2 piece chicken combo, my husband got the chicken sandwich. Fried chicken was excellent. Nice size pieces and perfect, crispy breading, not greasy. The biscuit could use more butter flavor, a bit on the dry side. Fries were average, maybe could have been cooked a minute more. My husband enjoyed his sandwich very much. Would have liked it more with a slice of cheese. He agreed with my opinion on the fries. We will definitely return.

Had the worst experience of my life there today as soon as I got there todag at 5:45pm there was a line of people waiting to order and a line of people waiting for their food. Honestly should’ve taken that as a sign and left but I decided to still order and as soon I go to order the guy on the register Mahesh says the new batch of spicy chicken will be out in 5-10 minutes tops at 5:51pm I say okay and wait then I see a man who had placed an ginormous order @2:30pm still waiting to get his food and this other employee Abdur-Rahman is helping him and trying to get all the food out the man has been waiting for ages for and stops handing out instore orders completely even though the food is sitting right infront of him and the other person with him is being told to focus on just that one order that was their own fault wasn’t handed out yet at that point there is another employee who comes out of the back and starts helping customers at that point its 6:17pm and I am still waiting for my simple 4for$5 and still not sign of chicken the guy and other people before and after me have gotten their food I go up and they say there is still a 10 minute wait meanwhile there is a fresh batch of regular chicken out and no sign of the spicy chicken at that point I am frustrated and ask for a refund and then the employees tell me that they accidentally marked my ordered as delivered while I am still sitting there waiting for my order then they insist on having me wait another ten minutes mind you I had been waiting for almost 40 minutes at that point. I had to really talk to them to just give me my money back cuz there was no way I was going to stay there any longer while they make excuses in my face.

Tex’s chicken not only has the best fresh hot food but the staff working tonight is second to none. I had to use Apple pay and the Tomeka, who was working the front register and preparing the amazing meals ran to get her own phone charger to accommodate my needs. I am recommending this place to everybody !!! Two thumbs up!!!

Tried Tex Chicken at the Selden location for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. The classic sandwich with their Tex sauce was packed with flavor — crispy, juicy, and just the right amount of kick. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the nuggets were a solid surprise too. Manpreet was super helpful and made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I stopped by Tex’s Chicken & Burgers last night and tried their new brownie dessert since they had a buy-one-get-one deal. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, so I didn’t expect a long wait, but my order still took about 15 to 20 minutes, which felt longer than usual. Maybe they were short-staffed or had a lot of delivery orders, but it’s something to keep in mind.

The food itself was decent for the price. I got a seven-piece wings meal with fries and a drink, and while the wings were good, the fries weren’t as crispy as I’ve had before—not soggy, just a little softer than usual. The brownie was what I was most excited about, but it was drier and harder than expected. I was hoping for something fudgier.

One thing I noticed this time was that the service felt a little more transactional than usual. Typically, there’s some small talk or at least a friendly vibe, but this time, it felt a bit rushed and impersonal. Maybe the staff was stretched thin, but a little more engagement would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

Another small thing I’ve noticed at this location is that the floor always feels a bit slick, even when it looks clean. They had a “Wet Floor” sign up, so maybe it was just freshly mopped, but it’s something I’ve experienced here before.

Overall, I appreciate that they offer a variety of options at really affordable prices. The experience wasn’t bad, but a few small tweaks—like making sure fries stay crispy, improving wait times, and bringing back that warm customer service—could make it even better. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, I might try a different dessert.

I have been to the centereach branch once or twice before, but the Selden store seems much cleaner and more hygienic than that. The staff here also provides excellent service. I eat lunch there with the kids every Friday and Sunday
