Idyllwild Tavern blends the soul of a neighborhood tavern with the care of a chef-driven kitchen and a thoughtfully built bar. While our roots are tied to great beer, this space is about balance—where food, drinks, and atmosphere stand equally strong. It’s a place to gather, linger, and enjoy the kind of hospitality that feels both familiar and special. Like a good tavern should be – you can always just walk in. Reservations are there if you need them. We offer Valet Parking for $8 or our guests can park in the neighborhood – we recommend near Rose St. and Warner Blvd.

My husband and I met in Idyllwild, so I knew exactly where I wanted to celebrate our anniversary: Idyllwild Tavern! I called ahead because they don’t take reservations, but I spoke with Rob who went above and beyond to make our night special! From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. The ambience of the space is sexy and makes you feel like you’ve escaped to the mountains. The service was stunning and everyone treated us amazingly. Both Justin and Paige made sure we had everything we needed! Our experience was truly incredible, but where it really shined was the food. The truffle fries and the miso carrots were truly delicious. We also ordered the branzino and it was cooked perfectly. But the star of the show, was the BURGER!!! Omg. I will dream of that burger! I cannot wait to come back:) thanks to everyone for making our night so special!

Came here on their opening night; had a really awesome experience and felt right at home despite going by myself. I had the pork belly and the mussels and both were phenomenal. I didn’t have to wait for a table, however I was alone and went super early lol. The atmosphere inside is great, they put a great deal of effort into the design of the restaurant and it felt so warm and inviting.
My favorite part was the drinks – the bartenders were killing it and the drinks were some of the most memorable I’ve had recently.
The food was a bit slow that night but I attribute it to being their opening night – I’d totally go back again 🙂

I was so excited for this location to open and I am so glad I was able to finally try it out. Chelsea was our service and she was the kindest and loveliest person. My friend and I were there to catch up and ended up having a “girl dinner” with just some appetizers and drinks. The whole staff made sure we were enjoying our time but the food and beer were the stars of the show. I cannot wait to go back and try more menu items, and knowing how wonderful the staff was is making my excitement to return even better because even though it was my first time there, I felt so welcomed and like part of the family! This is a location I will gladly continue to support!

We went the day after it opened and I’m sorry to not be able to give it 5 stars. We work nearby and have been very excited for it to open. We had to park in the neighborhoods behind the smokehouse and walk over. They don’t have a way to sign up or see the waitlist, they said the wait would be 35 minutes and we really wanted to try it so we waited by the time we actually sat down it was closer to an hour and they changed the table 3 times. The owner or manager walked around greeting and chatting with patrons he knew. It’s very loud and hard to chat with others. Every staff member we interacted with was very sweet and on top of it, we just rarely saw them. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks to come and 30 minutes for our food. They don’t leave the water at your table so you have to hope they come by but they are very busy. My drink was absolutely delicious and the BBQ burger my boyfriend got was also so, so good. My steak was chewy but good flavor. After waiting so long for everything we were very ready to go. We’d love to try it again maybe after a few months after work and they get in the swing of things.

The Branzino, Brussels, Burger and Yuzu cheesecake dessert were delicious….as was The Great Escape cocktail. It’s a really beautiful and cozy restaurant. It feels like a lot of care went into the details of the space. Miquela the owner, and her staff were so friendly and attentive – we felt well taken care of. We will definitely be going back soon. Really fantastic experience dining at Idyllwild Tavern tonight, our second time this year. We had the chicken wings, scallops, and mushroom bolognese — all three were phenomenal. Drew was our bartender and his service (and dirty martini) impeccable! Highly highly recommend (but don’t tell the tour guides at WB)!

Firstly. The most important thing in my opinion was the service. It was excellent. Everyone there seemed to be upbeat and kind. Super attentive to the tables and all sorts of informative about the beer selection. The beer selection in and of itself is really great. It’s not large but that’s not even a problem. Cold, crisp pours every time. The Mac and Cheese is killer. A must get. Truffle fries are also super good. Everything was prepared hot and fresh to order and was cooked exceedingly well. I do plan to come here in the near future to try out some of their other menu options. Based upon my first experience? I’m sure it won’t disappoint. If you’re nearby, check this spot out for sure.
