Celebrating with friends we got the California roll, cucumber roll, spicy tuna roll, yam yam roll and their famous MSU roll with several pieces of sushimi and of course the Miso soup and their ginger soy salad. Can not recommend highly enough. Definitely the best sushi in EL

The service is great! The beef bulgogi is also good. The California roll, Alaska roll, and miso soup were very bland and I didn’t like how they tasted. My favorite was probably the spring rolls because they were very tasty. The prices are affordable.

Sushi Ya is a staple in East Lansing. They have great sushi and extremely friendly staff. The Honey Ginger Tea is perfect for a cool rainy day. They use top notch ingredients for the sushi. I would recommend checking out Sushi Ya if you want quality sushi in East Lansing.

The staff here are very friendly, quick, and give good advice and explanations on what food is available.
The food was great, and the slices of fish on top were more than generous. It was my first time having sushi and I ultimately found out that I cannot stomach raw fish, but my heart still loves the taste.

This is a legitimate Japanese/Korean restaurant in the area. I came for a late lunch on Friday and it was not busy. The plates, tables, and seats are kept clean and the little curtain around the kitchen makes a cute atmosphere.
They make Tako Yaki with a nice crispy skin and it is authentic inside. It would have been perfect if they applied Aonori (dried green seaweed) and Bonito flakes on top, but it is still recommendable.
Salmon teriyaki box came with the assorted tempura along with the main salmon, each of which could have been one entree. This is a quite sizable potion for one person. The quality is standard and I don’t have any complaints. The side salad had a bit too much dressing but salad itself was fresh.
The ginger tea is sweetened and tastes like ginger ale without gas. The complimentary water here doesn’t smell like tap, so next time I’ll just go with it.

Decent sushi joint right by the school. The tempura sauce was weird. Not the light color ones you would usually get. It’s more like soy sauce. I wouldn’t recommend it. The spicy seafood udon was surprisingly good. I liked mount Fuji roll. Overall experience wasn’t bad. I would come back.

I ordered DoorDash from this establishment for the first time and it was amazing! The food was very well packaged. The portions are huge which makes the pricing very worth it. Delicious sushi, great side salad and miso soup, and very innovative sushi burrito.

This place is freaking awesome. The food is good and cheap. The service is good too. Good hidden college town spot. They have weird hours, but I usually work around them lol. The vibes chill, but don’t eat there too often in person usually get takeout. But one time they thought I was dining and dashing a year ago and it was really awkward. Anyways sushi ya really put the ya in sushi.
